It's absurd, preposterous, ludicrous, and asinine at what is transpiring in our nation's public high schools. Since the early 1960's with the supreme court decision to banish intercession, sacred scripture reading, and the Lord Jesus Christ from our classrooms, our nation's high schools have become dens of depravity. Hostilities, overt animus, gangs, drugs, sex, alcohol, etc. have replaced supplication, Bible reading, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Diverse factions of Christian students are boldly taking a stand on morality and traditional Christian mores in our public high schools. I adamantly admire these students for their exhibition of courage and valor to stand up for morality, and not to become docile to oppression, temptation, and peer pressure.
In closing, I would like to recognize the Christian high school students in Washington and Madison Counties who stand boldly for Jesus Christ. Thank you!
Here in the contemporary secular, mundane, pluralistic society, there is a vile pestilence that is sweeping across our nation and very little deterrent has been effective against it. I'm referring to this nefarious pestilence of pornography.
From Playboy magazines to X-rated movies, this vile and vulgar merchandise is being vehemently purchased and acutely observed by the general populous. Many conservative lawmakers have not yet been able to enact any austere sanctions against this filth which will regulate the enforcement against those who sell or display this porno material. Also, the judicial system adamantly declares they cannot define obscene material so they don't know when to sternly chastise an individual for deviating from any sanction or ordinance.
In closing, according to the sacred scriptures, pornography is wrong. God commands purity, chastity and virtue. We as Christians need to take an obdurate public stand against pornography and make our fervent sentiments known to our elected officials.
I'm constructing this pertinent epistle not as a protest or denouncing any faction within our contemporary secular, mundane pluralistic society, but to acutely advocate and endorse a germane concept.
First, I'm satiated, disenchanted, and disillusioned with some folks in the area of Christendom that acutely exhibit verbal animus, and hostility toward our 42nd president, Bill Clinton.
In closing, let me adamantly and vehemently admonish the readers that we need to implement fervent intercession, and zealous supplication on behalf of President Clinton so God can give this man wisdom, prudence, rationale and deiscretion to make correct decisions that effect all Americans.
1 Tomothy 2:2 - "For kings and for all that are in authority: that we my lead a quiet and peacable life in all Godliness and honesty."
At this time I would like to display, exhibit and minifest my sentiments concerning numerous "political far-right" or reactionary factions.
I'm satiated, disenchanted, and disillusioned with the whole spectrum of the extreme far right: Ku Klux Klan, the neo-Nazis, Posse Comitatus, Aryan Nation, variations of the militia and, of course, advocates of Rush Limbaugh. I perceive or discern that the only objective of these factions is to promote hostilities, antagonism, discord, animosity, belligerence and resentment toward other individuals within our secular, pluralistic society.
In closing, it's absurd, preposterous and ludicrous that mainstream America has to put up with these intolerant political zealots.
At this time I wish to pay homage to two outstanding civic servants from the Madison County geographical locality. I'm referring to Madison County tax assessor Buck Hamm and appraiser Herb Worley.
First, I truly appreciate these two men for their impeccable character, candor and integrity that each man exhibits. Both Buck and Herb display wisdom, prudence, rationale and discretion in handling the evaluation of property taxation in Madison County.
I also attest that these two men adhere to a professional code of governmental ethics.
In closing, let me adamantly proclaim that the Madison County tax assessor's office welcomes all people with courtesy, politeness and tact.
Since the passing of Gov. Orval E. Faubus, I have acutely reminisced on the pertinent this man endured during his lifetime. From his scan and meek childhood in southern Madison County to being elected governor of the state by the electorate is rather astonishing and bewildering. Let me also insert this man held no college degree, nor was he an attorney, but was self-educated and exhibited a political charisma that was extremely perplexing.
Gov. Faubus held various job descriptions, from cutting hickory stave as a lad to school tescher, circuit clerk, postmaster, newspaper publisher and editor, governor and then other governmental positions. Gov. Faubus had to be one of the most ambitious individuals to ever reside within this state.
I was not as privileged to interact with Gov. Faubus like Howard Cain, Frank Fulkerson, Earl Shinn and others from Huntsville were, but I vehemently declare he was a remarkable man.
In closing, let me reflect that Gov. Faubus never forgot the common man, his humble beginnings in Madison County and his austere rapport with Almighty God.
At this time I would like to recognize and acknowledge Mr. Larry Karrigan-Winter, manager of the Madison County Transfer Station and Recycling Center, and employees and volunteers for an impeccable task well performed in handling our recycled products. Larry and employees/volunteers exhibit diligence and persistence in the performance of their jobs. They also feel a sense of vanity knowing that they are exhibiting an altruistic demeanor in helping resolve our environmental problems that confront us daily in our contemporary time.
Also, I wish to recognize County Judge Herb Hawthorn and the board of directors of the Madison County Trash Transfer Station and Recycling Center. They displayed impeccable expertise in handling the monetary resources that created the construction and erection of this transfer station/recycling center.
Let me insert that this transfer station/recycling center is a colossal asset to the geographical locality, and Madison County is fortunate to have such an elite facility.
At this time, I would like to pay homage to this year's University of Arkansas basketball team. Many avid and devout basketball enthusiasts have relished observing this impeccable squad of outstanding players. This year's team exhibited these pertinent variables: maturity, temperance, diligence and perseverance. Also, the athlete's overt demeanor displayed proficiency and finesse. Thank you, team, for a magnimous basketball season.
I astutely perceive that it is emphatically imperative that I adamantly recognize and pay homage to a Huntsville physician that has been both assiduous and instrumental in providing immaculate health care to the populace of Madison County for the past 36 years. I'm referring to Dr. Ivan Box.
Dr. Box has been acutely instrumental in alleviating infirmity, and illness from his patients since 1960. Also, Dr. Box displays impeccable rapport, and interaction with all of his patients, and he is extremely proficient in his medical arts practice.
Not only is Dr. Box the epitome of a rustic community physician, but I vehemently venerate his unsullied character, candor, and integrity that he exhibits. Also, Dr. Box manifests irreproachable benevelonce, charity and altruism that is inimitable.
In closing, I vehemently proclaim with candor that Dr. Box has been a pertinent asset to the Madison County geographical locality by providing faultless health care through his Countryside Medical Clinic. Countryside Medical Clinic is affiliated with Washington Regional Medical Center.
I acutely perceive that it is imperative that a local woman from our quaint municipality be acknowledged and recognized for her impeccable civic service within our geographical locality. I'm referring to Amalga Litterell.
Amalga has been a major catalysis of inspiration to numerous individuals because of her diligence and perseverance in the construction of various civic endeavors within the area. Also, Amalga displays impeccable tact, protocol, and diplomacy withn interacting with the community. I can vehemently proclaim with candor that I have been awestruck and astonished at the remarkable and extraordinary manifestation of God's grace in her life.
In closing, I can adamantly attest that Amalga has been a pertinent asset to our quaint municipality and has immensely enhanced various civic endeavors within the area.
Thank you, Amalga, for all your social involvement which has created major cohesion to manifest within our community.
I feel compelled to recognize and acknowledge at this time some superior civic servants that exhibit prudence and rationale in handling our municipal affairs. I'm referring to the Mayor David Fox and the Huntsville city aldermen.
I appreciate the contributions that these elite municipal officers display. Also, I truly appreciate the impeccable character, candor, and integrity that each municipal officer exhibits. These men and women that serve proudly on our municipal synod adhere to a professional code of ethics.
I must be candid, and declare I'm satiated, disenchanted, and disillusioned with some members of our quaint municipality that acutely exhibit verbal hostility and animus toward these civic servants.
In closing, I perceive or discern that the Huntsville City Council is an entity that catches a lot of unnecessary grievance or variance.
It's time the populace of Huntsville stand behind Mayor Fox and the Huntsville City Alderman.
Last evening I had just completed a literary work on the theme of America's great spiritual revivals and began to ponder the concept of Independence Day.
I thought to myself, what does Independence Day convey to the vast number of individuals in our society? To some people, I guess, Independence Day conveys the concept of revelling, debauchery, and self-indulgence in fleshly desires. Maybe to other individuals, Independence Day is a holiday to exhibit apathy, indifference and unconcern for our nation.
My sentiment, along with the vast number of red-blooded Americans is Independence Day is a holiday to reminisce on our founding fathers who implemented the concepts of liberty and freedom in the construction of our nation. I also attest that Almighty God influenced the creation of our nation. Many of our enactments and constitutional rights are in correlation with the Bible. Also, patriotism and our Christian values have cohesion together.
With all the anarchy, crime, hostilities, and vices in our country, some may ask, "Does God really bless America?" My answer to them is, yes, he will once again through repentance and a revival of Christian values.
May God bless America once again!
It's absurd, preposterous and ludicrous, not to mention being asinine, what is transpiring at the Huntsville School District. The Huntsville school superintendent, who is a novice to the school system, has been given a $6,000 raise in pay, and he hasn't been employed by the district for even one year.
The superintendent was receiving a salary of $50,000 a year, fully paid health and a new car. Now, a $6,000 raise in pay.
Please, let me embark on some pertinent questions at this time.
Question 1: Secular educational entity coordinators (a.k.a. school board members), do you candidly declare the superintendent's job description requires you to pay him more than $1,000 a week?
Question 2: Why terminate non-certified personnel for tha approaching school year and vote to give the superintendent a $6,000 raise in pay?
Question 3: Secular educational entity coordinators, are you trying to establish and erect enormous hostilities and antagonism within the school district?
Question 4: Why are the numerous decisions constructed in an esoteric or covert manner unknown to the electorate within the district? What happened to the Freedom on Information Act?
Question 5: Secular educational entity coordinators, do you exhibit any valor to say "no" to oppression and injustice?
In closing, I must adamantly and vehemently speak out against oppression and injustice. Also, it is imperative that you seek God for wisdom, prudence, rationale and discretion.
I cannot recant.
First, I appreciate last week's letter concerning the youth of Huntsville. I descerned the sentiments exhibited merit and validity.
To be candid, I also manifest concurring sentiments toward our youth. I don't understand why contrasting entities like civic leaders, school personnel, church leaders, parents and concerned citizens don't "brainstorm" and try to resolve this problem of youth stagnation on the weekends.
Yes, we have a skating rink that displays a Christian climate, football and basketball games, a school dance from time to time, but is this enough social interaction for out youth?
Would it enhamce the social rapport among the youth if we constructed a miniature golf course, bowling alley, a movie theater, or even a go-cart track?
In closing, I perceive something needs to be implemented to enhance youth social productivity on the weekends than our youth embarking on an excursion down a rural Madison County road throwing beer cans out their automobile windows.
Hey, it wasn't long ago when I was a teenager, so I feel for our youth.
I thought "Beavis and Butthead" were depraved enough. Now MTV has a program called "Headbangers Ball" that is totally absurd and asinine, not to mention being vulgar and vile. The program exhibits such heavy metal groups as Nirvana, Cypress Hill, Alice in Chains and 10,000 Maniacs.
The lyrics of this music by the above groups advocate suicide, the utilization of drugs and sexual promiscuity among adolescents. Also, the theme of most of this music promotes rebellion and hostilities among the youth toward traditional Christian values, the nuclear family, and other authoritative entities.
In my observations of diverse musical forms, Heavy Metal is by far the most perilous. It advocates hostile, belligerent and antagonistic overt demeanor among the youth. It is astonishing at the psychological effects this type of music has on an individual.
In closing, all is not moot. Just because some depraved adolescents reside in our secular, pluralistic society doesn't mean all youth are debased.
Dear Reverend Bill, I felt I had to address your recent letter regarding MTV programming. I, too, have had problems with some of their programming. I would much rather they play more music videos. I get tired of the fashion shows, and Real World episodes. I do have to argue with you about what constitutes heavy metal. I listen to one of the groups you listed as such, and have since asked other people their opinion. "10,000 Maniacs" is not heavy metal. As to the program you spoke of, I have never watched it. It is funny, but I have noticed that every television comes with a channel changer, and if that doesn't work on yours, they try the on/off button. If that doesn't work, I suggest you simply unplug it.
You see, that is one of the things that makes this country great. We each have choices and the right to choose. As long as we are not harming another living soul, then we are free to choose. I suggest that you practice that freedom. If you choose not to watch MTV's programming which you disagree with, then more power to you. That's what it is all about after all.
You are even free to write to this newspaper and blast your opinion out there for all to see. Good for you. By the way, I have a 17-year-old son who listens to some of the "Heavy Metal" music you referred to in your article. He is a good student; he doesn't drink or smoke; and he is considerate of others. My, my, Reverend Bill. There go your theories about lyrics used in that music. You see, music is entertainment. Just as movies are entertainment. It is and always has been a way to get away from reality for just a short while. Every generation has had its music. Give us (and yourself) a break. Worry about something that is really important to this country. For example: child abuse, wife abuse, hunger, AIDS, etc. ...
At this time, I have three pertinent questions about racism that exhibit merit and validity.
1) When will this absurd and asinine concept known in our secular pluralistic society as racism be terminated and abolished?
2) When will all ethnic factions exhibit cohesion, and learn to assimilate together here in the U.S.?
3) When will all ethnic hostilities, and overt antagonism be acutely banished from the U.S.?
In closing, I perceive and discern that racism is theologically wrong, and morally a sin. Races need to learn to coexist together to keep the United States a formidable nation.
I'm irate and upset with this North American Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA. Why? Because cattle hardly bring anything through the sale barn. Now let me state, the sale barns in the area are not the problem, but the problem is with this NAFTA agreement.
This NAFTA agreement has broken down the trade barriers with Canada and Mexico, and these countries have flooded our American cattle Mattets with their cattle. Hey, I'm for free trade, but not when it hurts me and other farmers in Madison County.
In closing, before this NAFTA agreement was enacted, cattle prices were high for a number of years in the area. Let me be honest and say I'm totally against this NAFTA agreement because it hurts American farmers. Also, these packing houses around the country are hurting cattle farmers, too, because of supply and demand.
I'm strictly "America First" and God bless the American Farmer!
To be candid, I know it is rather perilous or difficult to be thankful in our contemporary secular pluralistic society that exhibits decadence and depravity on every corner. The escalation of crime, vices, hostilities, and overt antagonism can be observed everywhere.
On Thanksgiving Day, let's not only remember to be thankful for the simple things in life: our family and friends, our health, our prosperity, and our religious, but let's also remember the barren, poor, and destitute people within our society. As Americans, let's not display apathy or indifference to the social outcast.
In closing, I with to quote the Reverend Billy Graham: "Ninety-five percent of the difficulties you will experience as a Christian can be traced to a lack of Bible study, and praying."
In 1952, Congress passed a joint resolution signed by President Truman espablishing the annual National Day of Prayer. This enactment was amended in 1988 and signed by President Reagan, permanently setting the day as the first Thursday in May.
On May 2, thousands of pious Christians from around the nation will participate in this sacred event. Some Christians will erect cliques and intercede in public areas: for example, the steps adjacent to magistrate domiciles or municipal corridors. Other Christians, such as high school students, may wish to be in supplication standing adjacent to their school's flagpole and other Christians pray as individuals in the serenity of their own abode.
However the Holy Spirit directs one to pray on Thursday, May 2, let's remember to intercede to God for a spiritual awakening or renaissance for our nation. Pray that God heals our land and our inhabitants. Intercession will change the course or our country. In closing, the immortal words of President Lincoln, "the only assurance of our nation's safety is to lay our foundation in morality and religion."
After astutely analyzing John Pitts' emphatic epistle on the appalling conceptual premise of President Clinton advocating putting children in the public-school system in uniforms (4/7/96), I must declare a positive rebuttal because I have austere concurring sentiments.
For this one-world-order concept to be acutely implemented, there must be cohesion with the United States public-school entities. The liberals are cognizant of the germane conceptual premise. What better way to manifest solidarity than to endorse this obtuse, asinine, and inept concept of advocating uniforms for public-school children.
Let me vehemently proclaim with candor that this ludicrous concept of uniforms oppresses the children because it obstructs their freedom of expression and individuality.
The liberals have cloaked this them of uniforms, proclaiming that it will deter gangs if every student will wear the same raiment. This is absurd.
In closing, the pertinent reason the liberals adamantly advocate the wearing of uniforms is to have a generation of people within our contemporary, mundane, pluralistic society ready for the nefarious takeover by the "new world order." Teachers, will you be required to wear uniforms also?
It's astonishing and appalling at what is transpiring in Huntsville and Madison County. I'm referring to the escalating number of DWIs and public intoxications that occur in this quaint municipality on a weekly basis.
It seems to me much of the populace within Madison County exhibits apathy, indifference or unconcern with this prolific problem of alcohol abuse. My bias is that it is imperative that something must be implemented to deter this deviate form of social overt behavior.
In closing, I advocate and sanction stern DWI enactments and chastisements, the genesis of programs like MADD and SADD, and the increased involvement of sectarian factions to help deter this problem of alcohol abuse in Madison County.
After acutely observing the demise of numerous adolescents in automobile accidents in the Huntsville geographical locality in the late 1980s and early 1990s, I adamantly, vehemently, and austerely feel compelled to construct this germane epistle on the pertinent conceptual premise of the perils of alcohol abuse among adolescents.
First, let me vehemently proclaim with candor that alcohol abuse is a depravity within our contemporary secular pluralistic society. We, as a people, need not to exhibit apathy or passivity with this prolific problem of alcohol abuse.
Now, let me insert a brief synopsis utilizing a hypothesis that's not too verbose.
18-year-old John Doe has embarked on an excursion to his 16-year-old girlfriend's domicile to pick her up for their date.
Teenager John is ready for a night on the town. He earlier purchased some alcoholic beverages from an outlet liquor store that didn't card him.
John later rendezvoused with his girlfriend at her abode. Both John and his girlfriend depart her habitation and embark on a pilgrimage to a pertinent destination.
John offers his girlfriend a beer, and the nefarious depravity begins.
Forty-five minutes later, a police officer observes an automobile accelerating erratically, and the officer pulls the automobile over to the curb.
John and his girlfriend are apprehended with open containers of alcohol, and John confesses to have already consumed three beers.
Both John and his girlfriend are arrested and transported to the local municipal correctional facility for incarceration. Their parents are then called and admonished of the situation.
In closing, nuclear families, let's admonish and exhort our young people about the perils of alcohol. Educating our adolescents on the dangers of alcohol can be an impeccable and austere deterrent for them not to end up incorrigible or dead.
Parents, let's not be apathetic or passive anymore on adolescent alcohol abuse.
P.S. I constructed this germane epistle because of my altruistic dialogue with Huntsville Municipal Judge W.Q. Hall.
At this time i would like to make the populace of Madison County cognizant and vigilant of signs or symptoms of satanism, witchcraft and the occult.
First, not only have I analyzed numerous literary works on the occult written by Christian authors, but a few years ago I had a direct confrontation with some members of a witchcraft coven. Since I have laid the above premise, I perceive I can make some valid observations since I am not a novice to the esoteric arts.
Now let me insert some basic signs or symptoms of the occult operating in a given geographical locality.
1. Occult graffiti. Example: a pentagram, perverted cross, or the number 666.
2. Animal sacrifices or mutilations.
3. Occult paraphernalia. Example: Ouija boards, tarot cards, or crystal balls.
4. Occult jewelry. Example: fetishes o amulets to protect against evil (rings and necklaces).
5. Occult literary works. Example: books on sorcery or incantations.
In closing, I adamantly proclaim that pastors, law enforcement officers, and teachers need to be vigilant and acutely observe to see if these occult signs manifest in a given area.
While on an excursion sown a rural Madison County road to visit a friend, I came upon an appalling sight. Beer cans and other debris were resting along the culvert. I knew right off that this was the work of some "good ole boys."
"Good old boys," if you want to indulge in the consumption of alcoholic beverages, that is between you and the Lord. I just wish to admonish you and say please dispose of your debris properly so other civilized people won't have to clean up your mess.
A few months back I constructed an epistle on the premise or theme of the escalating number of DWIs and public intoxications that occur in this quaint municipality on a weekly basis.
Since that earlier letter, I have acutely observed what I perceive as a proliferation with this alcohol abuse problem in Madison County. To be candid, I'm neither astonished nor bewildered at this ongoing depravity and iniquity.
My pertinent objective in erecting this second epistle is to make the populace of Madison County cognizant of this anti-social overt demeanor of alcohol abuse.
In closing, let me declare my bias and state, I adamantly and vehemently perceive that we need more community interaction or rapport, and the increased involvement of sectarian factions to help deter this problem of alcohol abuse in Madison County.
In response to the Reverend Bill, I wish to make a few points. First, your vocabulary was really impressive. Bill! I'm sure your English teacher would be proud of you, but I'm sure your that the residents of Madison County would understand you better if you wrote in simpler English. "My pertinent objective in erecting this second epistle..." I mean, really!
Secondly, if there really is such a problem with alcohol abuse in Madison County, I have to wonder why? The entire county is dry! What do you want to do, ban sales in the counties surrounding you, too? You're really missing the boat on this one Bill-boy! Your type tried Prohibition 70 years ago and it didn't work. You still don't get it.
Lastly, I wish to object to being repeatedly exposed to the ramblings of you writing. I used to live in Huntsville. I could care less what happens in "Booger County."
Would someone who know or can identify, or recognize the Reverend "Bill" of Huntsville do those of us who read, pore over, scan and study the English language a favor?
Go, advance, move to his home, abode, dwelling, habitatation, residence and, while there, steal, filch, pilfer, purloin, or snatch his Roget's Thesaurus and ignite, incinerate or otherwise burn the damn thing! And the same to his typewriter.
You will be blessed, hallowed, revered and venerated by those of us who love the beauty of the English langusge.
Let me vehemently proclaim with candor that I adamantly appreciate the impeccable compliments of both Mark Q. and Bub S..
First, let me declare, Matt and Bud, impeccable observations on your behalf. I acutely perceive that you both have an outstanding grasp of the pertinent conceptual premise. The premise being, yes: I do possess a colossal lexicon, and an erratic and impeccable literary style in the construction of my epistles. In closing, no, Mark-boy and Bub, you may not ignite, incinerate or burn my Roget's Thesaurus.
Good-day, gentlemen!
I would like to comment on the writing style and snotty attitude of Reverend "Bill".
My favorite professor told me that we do not build our vocabularies so we can impress others by spewing sesquipedalians (unless we are in politics and have nothing substantial to say). We build our vocabularies so that we can better understand blowhards who never learned to communicate effectively.
The name of the game . . . is communication. Your message gets lost in your pseudo-intellectual wordiness.
I am in radio. So, it is appropriate for me to be an egomaniac and draw attention to myself. You, on the other hand, are a messenger of God. Any Sky Pilot worth her or his salt will shine the light on Him or Her who called him or her and not on her/himself.
Geez! Being politically correct can be exhausting, eh? But you're a bright boy, "Bill", and you get the point.
"Bill", let me just ask you two questions. Don't answer immediately, but give each one some serious thought.
1. If you thesaurus is so good, why do you use the word "impeccable" three times in two short paragraphs? It's embarrassing, "Bill." Let's try some variety.
2. Do you like gladiator movies?
As an avid, eager and even enamored reader of your letters to the Editor column, I truly liked, appreciated, and enjoyed the letter Reverend "Bill" wrote in return, answer and response to the letter, missive or epistle of Mark Q. and Bub S.. I am sorry I did not see their letter because I am sure it would have interesting, provocative, thought provoking and instructive.
As I pride myself on a precise, terse and concise writing style, I must admit that at times I have found Reverend Bill a little repetitive, redundant and self-repeating. However, the purpose of this letter is not to quarrel, argue or dispute that. It is just that I cannot realize, comprehend or understand how a person with his lexicon, vocabulary and impressive knowledge of language in general, could use the word "impeccable" three times in a short towo-paragraph letter. As I said, I'm sorry I didn't pursue, scrutinize and read the letter that Matt and Buddwrote but, who knows, if I had, I might have found it peccable.
When I acquire a Roget Thesaurus I hope to be better versed, more literary more eloquent than I have shown, demonstrated and manifested in this humble effort.
Reverend "Bill" continues to butcher the King's English. Oh, hells bells, in the words of Henry the 2nd, "Will on one rid us of this pestilential priest?"
He refuses to permit anyone to burn his "impeccable colossal lexicon," once again demonstrating his surquedy and outrequidence has no merit. I would never burn a book. I am a bibliophile. I have two ideas that are more enlightened than burning a book. Buy some limes, dump them over the Reverend's typewriter, and perform the Guatemalan Lime Dance on it and trash the sucker. Better yet, instead of burning a book or trashing a typewriter, burn Reverend "Bill." It will shut him up and he can take comfort in his martyrdom that for once a Christian put off some light.
I'm absolutely fascinated by tis Reverend "Bill" stuff. I mean, I don't even read the comics anymore. And anytime I feel a little down, all I have to do is say the word "impeccable" aloud and I immediately burst out laughing. I guess I should stop doing this as people tend to look at me funny.
As to this notion of setting hime on fire: I'll admit this sounds viable at first, but think about it. The EPA would come down on us big time, Bud, you dingleberry!
One more thing. Why the continual references to the Thesaurus. Every idiot knows they've been extinct for like, 900 million years!
And even if they weren't, can you imagine the problems of ownership? Firstly, it would (for obvious reasons) have to stay outside. Picture the fence you'd need (Wait! Seem like they could fly or something!). And the poop the thing would generate.
I really wonder about some of you people. And everyone thinks I'm loony (I have papers proving I'm sane).
May I expect too much of others. Have deficiencies does not make one a bad person. And I do try to get along.
I'm a nice person. People like me. I'm a nice person. People like me...
Although I agree with the message of the letter from Reverend "Bill", I think someone should take his thesaurus and beat him about the head and shoulders with it!
My pertinent objective in vehemently constructing this intriguing epistle is to emphatically attest that I adamantly relish analyzing the opinion, and letters to the editor sections of this newspaper.
I vehemently proclaim with candor that I austerely perceive that this paper has the most impeccable letters to the editor section in this state. I acutely discern that this public forum is an astonishing outlet for debate, dialogue, and discussion. I must declare with sincerity that I appreciate and relish other individuals' appalling sentiments and bewildering views.
Here in our contemporary secular pluralistic society, I'm a 34 year-old, single male cleric that adamantly manifests opposing view to: 1. Abortion, 2. Homosexuality, 3. Pornography, 4. Gambling, and 5. Alcohol/Drugs. My adherence to conservative traditional Christian mores may frighten some folks. Who knows?
Whether numerous individuals in our contemporary secular pluralistic society here in Northwest Arkansas advocates or denounces my Christian views, hey, that's their privilege and constitutional right.
In closing, when I began erecting epistles, and submitting them to newspaper editors, I knew people would have confilicting views against my views. But to advocate physical harm to my anatomy, well this is absurd and asinine, and I personally don't see anything humorous, or comical about it. I perceive it to be sick, and deranged! I'm serious!
Thank you, editor, for publishing numerous epistles of mine for the last few years.
My aim, goal and purpose in writing this note, missive or, if you will, letter to this unparalleled and matchless newspaper and its illustrious staff is to announce that I have completely changed, reserved and altered the opinions and views expressed, set forth and espoused in my earlier epistle in which I was somewhat fault-finding and critical of the Reverend Bill for his pluralistic and multiple use of a word in one of his letters to this paper.
In admitting, conceding and acknowledging the error of my ways, I write, pen or to be more exact, type this letter. Although I personally favor 1. abortion; 2. homosexuality; 3. pornography; 4. gambling and; 5. alcohol/drugs, I now wish to voice, proclaim, herald and declare the Reverend Bill's right, option and choice to express his somewhat bewildering, appalling and confusing contrary views.
At the same time I wish to denounce, chasten and yes, even castigate those poor misguided, biased and bigoted individuals who have had the audacity, arrogance and effrontery to criticize Reverend Bill on his impeccable use of the English language. I point the finger of shame at you.
I have a cunning plan. Introduce the Reverend "Bill" and Mr. Ivan Denton, "The Cowpoke Whittler," so they can collaborate on a book. Just think of it!
A book, tome, volume that would contain the wisdom of philosophy that would rank with that of Spiro Agnew and other great minds. A publication that would surely rank with Cornpone Aristocrat and Confession of a Teenage Werewolf and other widely read books. Surely their effort would have all of the integrity of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and the knowledge displayed, presented and exhibited that one can discern in The Wit and Wisdom of Idi Amin. It would be as exciting as Richardson's Clarissa and not one whit shorter. Their combined efforts would have such gread literary quality, distinction, merit and worth that it would be imperishable as Linear A! I suggest they write under the pseudonyms of Simplicimus and Stupor and title their combined effort either The End of Intelligent Writing or How Not to Write.
I await the publication of this monumental effort of liberal homespun philosophy and broad-mainded ethical theology with wild, unbridled, untamed and excited anticipation from two men whose minds function like a Moedius circuit.
As a public service, we here at my radio station are trying to arrange a Cage-Of-Death rasslin' match between Sheriff McKee and Dan Ivy. Loser leaves town. For the under-card we wand to invite the Reverend "Bill" and Peter Harkins to face off and see which one has the biggest thesaurus. Stay tuned for details - should there be any.
Reverend Bill, when promulgating your esoteric cogitations and articulating you superficial sentimentalities and amicable philosophical and psychological observations, please beware of platitudinous ponderousities. Let your verbal evaporations have lucidity, intelligibility and veracious vivacity without rodomontade or thespian bombast. Sedulously avoid all polysyllabic profundity, pompous propensity and sophomoric vacuity.
My pertinent objective in vehemently constructing this intriguing missive is to emphatically attest the I'm adamantly satiated, disenchanted and disillusioned with our contemporary liveral Democratic political faction. Why?
Because of my moral and spiritual convictions, I cannot advocate nor promote a liberal candidate that acutely obdurates abortion and homosexuality.
Let me emphatically proclaim with candor that abortion and homosexuality are overt abominations, iniquities and transgressions against Almighty God.
Since I've laid this above pertinent conceptual premise, let me declare that I was born and raised a third-generation, yellow-dog Democrat that eventually went on to serve as college vice president of the Young Democrats at Arkansas Tech University.
Now, after acutely observing what I astutely perceive as the ulTomate demise of my once beloved Democratic political sect because of their reprobate platform on abortion and homosexuality, I have no overt reaction but to renounce and denounce this liberal faction and fervently adhere to the more conservative Republican Party.
It was with a heavy heart that I read of Reverend Bill's decision to leave the Democratic Party because of his beliefs on homosexuality and abortion. Granted, this was the first I knew that he had once been a Democrat, since there was little in any of his earlier writings to hint of this.
But still, now that I know, I see that those of us of the Democratic persuasion will be losing a unique voice. I know of no man able to express himself in quite the way that Reverend Bill does. Every time I read one of his letters it is like re-discovering the English language. I deeply regret that I will no longer be able to consider him a political compatriot.
Farewell, Reverend Bill, and best of luck to you as you crash that Grand Old Party. It is my honest wish that you continue to speak as eloquently for them as you have for us.
On Nov. 5, Arkansas will vehemently decide on what course our cities, counties, state and nation will politically travel. Whether one adheres to the Republican, Democratic or Independent parties, he or she must be pragmatic and not apathetic, passive or callous when casting their votes.
Suffrage is not a right, but an American privilege. One must also exhibit wisdom, patience and discretion when at the polls.
In closing, I also emphatically advocate the one seek guidance from God through fervent intercession and zealous supplication before he or she casts their votes. Please vote.
It is imperative that I erect this epistle on this specific theme at this time. I'm constructing this letter not as a protest, nor denouncing the male gender, but to orient and make cognizant some pertinent concepts.
First, I have never interfaced with a woman in the bond of holy matrimony, but I have dated numerous women during the last 12-15 years.
Since I have laid the above premise, I perceive that I can make some valid observations.
Observation 1: Women absolutely abhor and detest a selfish man.
Observation 2: Women want men to exhibit an altruistic demeanor. Examples: Women relish receiving flowers, candy, stuffed animals, and etc. from a man.
Observation 3: Women want men to display extreme courtesy, politeness, and social charm toward them. Example: Opening up car doors for them, and etc.
Observation 4: Women want men to spoil, pamper and coddle them.
In closing, women want to be treated with the utmost respect and honor. Men, it's time to treat women the way they want to be treated.
Reverend Bill states that he "knows what a woman wants." He then lists those "wants". Congratulations, Reverend, you have surpassed the knowledge of every male who has walked on this planet. Reverend Bill then states that he is a bachelor and has never been married. Well, Reverend, ole buddy, just look up "naive" in your Thesaurus.
I also feel it is a good thing that Reverend Bill is a minister, because if he ever marries he is going to need divine guidance. Failing that, he should seek a prescription for Valium from his physician or, better yet, one of the psychotropic medications like Thorazine or Stelazine.
Let me vehemently proclaim with candor that I adamantly appreciate the impeccdable compliments from Bub S. who makes his domicile in the quaint municipality of the Durham geographical locality.
First, Bud, immaculate observation on your behalf. I acutely perceive that you have an ourstanding grasp of the pertinent conceptual premise. The germane premise being, yes, I do know what a woman wants.
Secondly, Bud, for the past 15 years, I've dated maybe 450 women or so. The longest I've ever dated a woman was three years. Her name was Cheryl, and I treated her like a queen. To be candid, I treated her too good.
In closing, Bud, I'm really curious to know just how many women you have dated in the past, and does your better half (your wife) know about these former girlfriends? Also, does you wife have to take psychotropic medications like Thorazine or Stelazine just to live in the same abode with you?
Bud, I will embark on fervent intercession and zealous supplication on your behalf so God can show you how to treat women properly.
Thank you for the constant printing of letters from the Reverend Bill.
It's nice to get a chuckle in the morning from his apparent misguided attempt at the English language. Maybe you could get him his own comic strip?
As for the alleged 450 women in 15 years? I find it difficult to believe there are 450 ignorant women in the area.
Who would have thought Reverend "Bill" was a roue? What a scoundrel he must be. He not only knows what a woman wants, he knows how to treat 449 of them good and one too good over a 15-year period, a total of 450 women which is 37.6 per year subtracting three years with Cheryl.
I do not know how many women I have "dated" in my life. I've never counted them but I am trying to arrange a reunion in Razorback Stadium for next year. And, yes, my wife does know about them and has met many of them. Some of them are friends of hers and we has Sunday dinner with one last week. She has met only one of my four former wives, but they get along quite well and she is devoted to my sons. She does not take medication in order to live with me. I know how to treat women properly and she is quite under control. I threaten to reduce her ration of gruel and require her to make bricks with straw if she does not behave properly, and she knows the flogging does not stop until morale goes up. I have a suggestion Reverend, ol' buddy:
Instead of collaborating with "Horsesweat and Gunsmoke" Denton to write a book, write one yourself. I would suggest a working title of something like "My Life and Loves: Confessions of a Booger County Casanove" or, perhaps, "Reverend Bill Behind the Green Door." They might even make a movie out of it.
And, Cheryl. Alas, poor Cheryl. She should also tell her story to the "National Enquirer" or "Star" Magazine. I can see the headlines: "Betrayed! Treated Too Good Like a Queen for Three Years and Discovered There Were 449 Other Women!" or, perhaps, more personally, "My Three Years in a Living Hell of Adverbs, Adjectives and Superfluous Redundance." I think that would work.
And I hardly need fervent intercession and zealous supplication on my behalf to God. I learned about women from a goddess many years ago. Her name was Desiree Rominique and when we parted I could only think that I treated her like a queen. I must have treated her too good. Perhaps, even, too well.
I'm writing to inform you that I didn't appreciate the epistle by Mr. Budd Saunders that published in today's paper!
I've decided to terminate my epistle construction in your newspaper, and to boycott and never purchase another one again.
I thought Sander's letter was obtuse, asinine and inept. To be candid, I thought this epistle to be just plain foolish!
I'm very surprised that you people would publish the letter. Do you people have any type of morals or ethics that you follow on publishing epistles? I guess not!
I would appreciate my name left out of any more letters that you publish in you paper.
At this time, I would like to pay homage and trubute to a man that has been an active civic servant toe the populace of Madison County for over the past 20 years. I'm referring to Sheriff Ralph Baker.
During his tenure n public office, Sheriff Baker has been acutely instrumental in providing impeccable and proactive law enforcement to the people of Madison County. Also, he has been instrumental in completing and constructing contrasting projects with the Sheriff't Department.
Let me now vehemently proclaim with candor that Sheriff Baker exhibits immaculate rapport and interaction within the Madison County geographical locality. Not only is Sheriff Baker the epitome of a rustic county sheriff, but I vehemently venerate his unsullied character, candor and integrity that he manifests in his overt behavior. Also, Sheriff Baker displays irreproachable benevolence, charity and altruism that is inimitable.
In closing, I wish to proclaim with sincerity that Sheriff Baker has been a pertinent asset to the Madison County area by providing faultless law enforcement to the county.
Thank you Sheriff Baker, for all your years in providing proficient law enforcement to Madison County.
At this time, I would like to pay homage and tribute to a man who has been an active civic servant to the populace of Benton County for the past few years. I'm referring to Sheriff Andy Lee.
During his tenure in public office, Sheriff Lee has been acutely instrumental in providing impeccable and proactive law enforcement to the people of Benton County. Also, he has been instrumental in completing and constructing contrasting projects with the sheriff's department.
After observing his overt behavior, let me now vehemently proclaim with candor that Sheriff Lee exhibits immaculate rapport and interaction within the Benton County geographical locality. Also, I adamantly venerate the unsullied charactor, candor and integrity he manifests in his overt demeanor. Sheriff Lee displays irreproachable benevolence, charity and altruism that is inimitable.
In closing, I wish to proclaim with sincerity that Sheriff Lee has been a pertinent asset to the Benton County area by providing faultless law enforcement to the county.
Thank you, Sheriff Lee, for all your years in providing proficient law enforcement to the people of Benton County. God bless you.
I would like to pay homage and tribute to a man who has been an active civic servant to the electorate of Arkansas for the past few months. I'm referring to Gov. Mike Huckabee.
During his tenure in public office, Huckabee has been acutely instrumental in providing impeccable leadership qualities back into our state government. He truly manifests wisdom, prudence, rationale and discretion that are conspicious.
After observing his behavior, let me now proclaim with candor and attest that Huckabee exhibits immaculate rapport and interaction within the geographical locality of the state.
I adamantly venerate the unsullied charactor, candor and integrity he manifests in his overt demeanor.
Huckabee manifests irreproachable benevolence and charity and altruism that is inimitable.
I wish to emphatically proclaim with sincerity that Huckabee has been a pertinent asset to the state because of his austere morals and [the] ethics he exhibits in his character.
Thank you, governor, for being a man of both political and spritual convictions. God bless you.
You lied to us, Reverend Bill.
Not long ago we were promised that your prose would never again appear in this newspaper.
If we cannot trust a man of the cloth, then who?
At this time, I would like to pay homage and tribute to a man who has been an active civic servant to the electorate of the state of Arkansas for the past six months. I'm referring to Gov. Mike Huckabee.
During his tenure in public office, Gov. Huckabee has been acutely instrumental in bringing impeccable leadership qualities back into our state governmental entity. Gov. Huckabee truly manifests immaculate wisdom, prudence, rationale and discretion that are conspicious.
After observing his overt behavior, let me now vehemently proclaim with candor and attest that Gov. Huckabee exhibits immaculate rapport and interaction within the geographical locality of the state of Arkansas.
Also, I adamantly venerate the unsullied character, candor and integrity he displays in his overt demeanor. Gov. Huckabee manifests irreproachable benevolence, charity and altruism that is inimatable.
In closing, I wish to emphatically proclaim, with sincerity, that Gov. Huckabee has been a pertinent asset to the state of Arkansas because of his austere morals and ethics that he exhibits in his character.
Thank you, Gov. Huckabee, for being a man of both political and spiritual convictions.
God bless you sir.
Wednesday will be the 31st annual International Day of Prayer. Devout Christians from all over the geopolitical regions of the earth will actively participate in this pious event.
Numerous sectarian factions from around the globe, along with individuals who exhibit their own spirituality through an esoteric manner, will develop cohesion on this given day of fervent intercession.
Here, in our contemporary, secular, mundane, pluralistic society, the people of various contrasting nations have to confront adversity and misfortune daily.
We, as Christians, need to be in zealous supplication to God for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ around the globe.
In closing, let me acutely exhort and admonish the Christians in Northwest Arkansas to just set aside five minutes that day to pray for the barren and destitute people around the globe.
Also, intercede for a salient spiritual awakening to occur around the world.
Upon reading, perusing and scanning the Rev. W. A. (Bill) letter, missive, epistle, billet-doux, note, memorandum in the March 2 edition and issue of the heralded newspaper of the geographical locality of Washington and Benton counties, it is our opinion, belief, estimation, assessment, judgment, view and conjecture that the Rev. W.A. (Bill) should fling, propel, throw, hurl, toss, cast, pitch, heave, sling, let fly, lob, chuck, launch and project his thesaurus, synonym dictionary, word finder and synonymy through the nearest door, portal, passage way, entry and threshold as soon as possible.
Has anyone noticed Rev. Bill telling us right from wrong as if we don't know it's just his opinion as is this mine. It doesn't make him or me right. Has he or Huckabee (acts of God) talked to God, and I mean with God talking back, to explain all of this? (I don't think so)? Has anyone noticed this or is it just me?
Since a multitude of high school seniors will be graduating in the next few days, I adamantly, vehemently and emphatically feel compelled to construct this missive on the perils of adolescent alcohol abuse.
First, let me vehemently proclaim with candor that alcohol abuse is a nefarious depravity within our contemporary, secular, mundane, pluralistic society.
Now, let me insert a brief synopsis utilizing a hypothesis that's not too verbose.
It's Saturday night and 18 year-old John Doe has embarked on an excursion to his 16-year-old girlfriend's domicile to pick her up for their date. Teen-ager John is ready for a night on town. He earlier purchased some alcoholic beverages from an outlet liquor store that didn't card him.
John later rendezvous with his girlfriend at her abode. Both John and his girlfriend depart and embark on a pilgrimage to a pertinent destination. John offers his girlfriend a beer, and the reprobate depravity begins.
Fifty-five minutes later, a police officer observes an automobile accelerating erratically and the officer pulls the automobile over to curb. John and his girlfriend are apprehended with open containers of alcohol and John confesses to have already consumed three beers.
Both John and his girlfriend are arrested and transported to the local municipal correctional facility for incarceration. Their parents are then called and admonished of the situation.
In closing, nuclear families, let's acutely admonish and exhort our young people about the perils of alcohol. Educating our adolescents on the dangers of alcohol can be an impeccable and austere deterrent for them not to end up incorrigible or dead. Parents, let's not be apathetic or passive any more on adolescent alcohol abuse.
Also, once again, I would like to congratulate Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee for the creation and implementation of the Benton County DWI Task Force. Sheriff Lee, thank you for helping make our thoroughfares in Northwest Arkansas safer. Your sheriff's office does an impeccable job of vehemently deterring drunk drivers in Benton County. Please keep up the good work.
At this time, I get austerely compelled to vehemently fabricate this conservative political manifesto on the germane conceptual premise of God cleaning up the state of Arkansas by using Gov. Mike Huckabee, and various conservative Republican legislators.
During our legislative session, I acutely discern that more salient pro-family ordinances were enacted than any other time in recent memory. Unlike past sessions, there was no attempt to ban spanking as a form of chastisement in schools, there were no euthanasia bills introduced nor any bills to make a divorce easier to obtain.
Now, let me insert a few conspicuous enactments our lawmakers decided to make into law:
* Partial-birth abortions were prohibited.
* Same-sex marriages were abruptly outlawed.
* Most home-schooling restrictions were banished.
* Less restrictions for graduates of private schools and home schools to gain admission into state-supported colleges.
* Reform program for welfare.
* Tax increases were adamantly halted.
* Car tags will be emphatically easier to renew.
* Public schools are going to start teaching moral character.
In closing, let me vehemently proclaim with candor and attest that I astutely perceive that the state of Arkansas is headed in the correct direction thanks to the impeccable leadership of Gov. Mike Huckabee.
At this time,I would like to make a public statement.
After reading the informative letters directed to me by David Vance and V. and A. H., all of Rogers, about my writing style, I've decided to lighten up and throw away my old, worn-out Thesaurus for good.
Every letter I write from here on out will be written with simplicity that even a 12-year-old kid could read.
In closing, I want to apologize for any inconvenience that I may have caused to any readers. I want to get along with all the fine folks in Benton County.
To be candid, I know it is rather perilous or difficult to be thankful in our contemporary secular society that exhibits decadence and depravity on every corner. The escalation of crime, vices, hostilities and antagonism can be observed everywhere.
During this season, let's not only remember to be thankful for the simple things in life; our family and friends; our health; our prosperity; our religious faith; but let's also remember the barren and destitute people within our society. As Americans let's not display apathy toward the social outcast.
In closing, to quote the Rev. Bill Graham, "95 percent of the difficulties you will experience as a Christian can be traced to a lack of Bible study and praying."
Incarcerated in a local municipal correctional facility in Northwest Arkansas at this time were John Doe, DWI No.3, bond set at $3,500, and Jane Doe, public intoxication, bond set at $750.
It's astonishing and appalling what is transpiring in Northwest Arkansas. I'm referring to the escalating number of DWI and public intoxications that occur within the area on a weekly basis. It seems to me much of the populace within Northwest Arkansas exhibits apathy to this prolific problem of alcohol abuse. My bias is that it is imperitive that something be implemented to deter this deviate form of social overt behavior.
In closing, I advocate more austere DWI enactments, the genesis of programs like MADD and SADD, and the increased involvement of area churches to help deter this problem of alcohol abuse within Northwest Arkansas. Also, I would like to congratulate Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee for the creation and implementation of the Benton County DWI Task Force. Sheriff Lee, thank you for helping make our thoroughfares in Northwest Arkansas safer. Your sheriff's office does an impeccable job of deterring drunk drivers in Benton County.
Since the passing of Madison County Sheriff Ralph Baker, I would like to pay homage and tribute to this man who has not only been an active civil servant to the populace of this county but also this county's friend.
During his tenure in the public office, Sheriff Baker had been acutely instrumental in providing impeccable and proactive law enforcement to the people of Madison County. Also, he had been instrumental in completing and constructing projects within the sheriff's department.
After observing his behavior, let me now say that Sheriff Baker exhibited rapport and interaction within the Madison County geographical locality. Also, I adamantly venerated the unsullied character, candor and integrity he manifested in his demeanor. Sheriff Baker displayed irreproachable benevolence, charity and altruism that was inimitable.
In closing, I wish to proclaim with sincerity and attest that Sheriff Baker never forgot about the common man nor his humble beginnings in southern Madison County.
Even though Sheriff Baker is no longer with us on Earth, his spirit will always remain in the hearts and lives of the people in Madison County.
At this time, I feel compelled to write this conservative political epistle on t he premise of God cleaning up the state of Arkansas by using Gov. Mike Huckabee and various conservative Republican legislators.
During our last legislative session, I discerned that more pro-family laws were enacted than any other time in recent memory. Unlike past sessions, there was no attempt to ban spanking as a form of chastisement in schools; there were no euthanasia introduced, nor any bills to make divorce easier to obtain.

In closing, let me proclaim that I perceive the state of Arkansas is headed in the correct direction thanks to the leadership of Gov. Huckabee.
It's absurd and ludicrous what is transpiring in our nation's high schools. Since the early 1960s with the Supreme Court decision to banish intercession, sacred-scripture reading and the Lord Jesus Christ from our classrooms, our nation's high schools have become dens of depravity.
Hostility, slothfulness, gangs, dope, sexual unchastity, alcohol etc, have replaced prayer, Bible reading and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Diverse factions of Christian students are boldly taking a public stand on morality and traditional Christian values in out public high schools. I adamantly admire these pupils for their exhibition of courage and valor to stand up for morality and not to become docile to oppression, temptation and peer pressure.
At this time, I would like to pay homage to this year's Arkansas Lady Razorbacks basketball team.
Many avid and devout Lady 'Back enthusiasts have relished observing this impeccable squad of outstanding players like Christy Smith, Sytia Messer, Karyn Karlin, Treva Christensen and many others. This year's team exhibited these pertinent variables: maturity, temperence, diligence and perserverance. Also, the athlete's overt demeanor displayed proficiency and finesse.
Thank you, Coach Gary Blair and the Lady Razorbacks, for a magnimous basketball season.
Here in our contemporary society there is a vile pestilence that is sweeping across our nation, and very little deterrent has been effective against it.
This pestilence continues to escalate at an astonishing rate. Also, this detestable pestilence is a very lucrative business for many entrepreneurs. I’m referring to this pestilence called pornography.
From Playboy magazines to XXX-rated videos, this vulgar merchandise is being purchased and observed by the general populace. Many conservative lawmakers have not yet been able to enact any sanctions against this filth that will regulate the enforcement against those who see or display this porn material.
Also, the judicial system adamantly declares they cannot define obscene material so they don’t know when to chastise an individual for deviating from any sanction or ordinance.
According to the sacred scriptures, pornography is wrong.
God commands purity, chastity and virtue. Matthew 5:28 – “whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her
already in his heart.”
In closing, I advocate and promote that Christians within their local municipalities confront their aldermen and see if any ordinance against this pornography can be implemented.
In 1952, Congress passed a joint resolution signed by President Truman establishing the annual National day of Prayer. This enactment was amended in 1988, and signed by President Reagan permanently setting the day as the first Thursday in May.
On May 7, thousands of pious Christians from around the nation will participate in this sacred event. Some Christians will erect cliques and intercede in public areas: For example, the steps adjacent to court houses or city halls. Other Christians, such as high school students, may wish to be in supplication standing adjacent to their school's flag pole, and other Christians pray as individuals in the serenity of their own residential abode.
However the Holy Spirit directs one to pray on May 7, let's remember to intercede to God for a spiritual awakening for our nation. Pray that God heals our land and our inhabitants. Fervent intercession will change the course of our country.
In closing, the immortal words of President Lincoln: "The only assurance or our nation's safety is to lay our foundation in morality and religion."
Numerous Madison County residents have confronted me about why I became a Republican two years ago when I was born and raised a third-generation Madison County "Yellow Dog" Democrat.
I would like to state publicly for the very last time that I became a Republican because of Sheriff Andy Lee, Chief Deputy Don Townsend and major Nelson Erdmann, all of the Benton County Sheriff's Dept.
Whether one adheres to the Republican or Democratic faction, it is imperative that he or she subdues their contrasting political sentiments at this time.
If your candidate was not elected, please don't exhibit hostilities, belligerence or antagonism toward the political party in power.
I admonish and exhort all Christians to implement in their devotional times, prayers, intercession and supplication for our political leaders.
1 Timothy 2:2, "Pray in this way for kings and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peacable life in all godliness and honesty."
At this time, I vehemently feel compelled to pay homage and veneration not only to print journalism editor Mark Masters, but all the writing staff.
First, these devout folks are proven journalistic professionals who know how to get to the apex of a controversial issue. After reading this informative publication for a number of years, I can adamantly proclaim with candor and attest that this paper's staff never reports a moot story, but always strives to get to the core of every political, community or business issue at hand.
In closing, editor masters and the writing staff, thank you, for a job well done. I enjoy reading this paper.
Before any more time goes by, I would like to thank two people who helped me immensely in obtaining my historical research on the early days of St. Paul and southern Madison County.
First, to McRay Baker who actually showed me the physical locality of hotels, stores, banks, railroad, depot, etc. in St. Pauls' early days.
Secondly, to Joy Russell, Madison County Historian at the Madison County Genealogical and Historical Society for her help on my southern Madison County Research.
Thanks, and I appreciate the time you both took with me.
I would like to pay homage to the University of Arkansas head football Coach Houston Nutt, defensive coordinator Keith Burns, and the Razorbacks football team.
Coach Nutt, you are doing an impeccable job in turning the football program around. Your expertise and input from your former coaching years are definitely an asset. Coach Nutt, just stay focused on what you want to see implemented. You are doing a great job.
Coach Burns, you understand how to construct a defensive squad. The defensive players are motivated, proficient, and play very tenaciously. They seem to be physical, and very domineering. Keep up the good work.
The Razorback players seem to exhibit more maturity and patience this year. Players like Clint Stoerner, Madre Hill, Ryan hale, Zac Painter, and Anthony Lucas exhibit outstanding leadership qualities.
Razorbacks, continue the season with perseverance, diligence, a positive demeanor and a post-season bowl game will become a reality.
Incarcarted in alocal municipal correctional facility in Northwest Arkansas were John Doe, DWI No. 3, bond set
at $3,500, and Jane Doe, public intoxication, bond set at $750.
It's astonishing and appalling what is transpiring in Northwest Arkansas.
I'm referring to the escalating number of DWI's and public intoxications that occur within the area on a weekly basis.
It seems to me much of the populace within Northwest Arkansas exhibits apathy to this prolific problem of alcohol abuse.
My bias is that it is imperative that something be implemented to deter this deviate form of social overt behavior.
In closing, I advocate more austere DWI enactments, the genesis of programs like MADD and SADD and the increased
involvement of area churches to help deter this problem of alcohol abuse within Northwest Arkansas.
The bottom line is we need to get drunk drivers off our municipal thorough fares.
After acutely observing the President Clinton XXX-rated scandal with Monica Lewinsky via the news media,
let me insert this valid concept.
Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee needs to embark on a pilgrimage to Washington, D.C., so Sheriff Andy can
post the Ten Commandments on the wall of the Clinton's White House.
Sounds good to me.
At this time, I would like to pay homage and tribute to a man who has been an impeccable high school football mentor
in Arkansas a vast number of years. I'm referring to Greenland Coach John Karnes.
First, I've known John from our childhood days in Huntsville to our college days together, and let me vehemently
proclaim with candor and attest that John has always possessed a keen football mind.
John acutely understands how to implement offensive strategy while constructing a defensive squad that plays
very tenaciously.
After observing his overt behavior on the field, John exhibits immaculate rapport and interaction with his players.
The Greenland Pirates relish playing for this guy. Also, I adamantly venerate the unsullied character, candor
and integrity that John manifests in his demeanor. Coach Karnes displays irreproachable benevolence, charity and
altruism that is inimitable.
In closing, I wish to declare with sincerity that Coach Karnes has been a pertinent asset to the Arkansas his school
coaching profession because of his love for humanity.
At this time, I would like to pay homage and tribute to a man who has been an active civic servant to the populace of Washington County for the past few years. I'm referring to Sheriff Kenneth Mckee.
During his tenure in public office, Sheriff McKee has been acutely instrumental in providing impeccable and proactive law enforcement to the people of Washington County. Also, he has been instrumental in completing and constructing contrasting projects with the sheriff's department.
After observing his overt behavior, let me now vehemently proclaim with candor that Sheriff Lee exhibits immaculate rapport and interaction within the Washington County geographical locality. Also, I adamantly venerate the unsullied charactor, candor and integrity he manifests in his overt demeanor. Sheriff McKee displays irreproachable benevolence, charity and altruism that is inimitable.
In closing, I wish to proclaim with sincerity that Sheriff McKee has been a pertinent asset to the Washington County area by providing faultless law enforcement to the county.
Thank you, Sheriff McKee, for all your years in providing proficient law enforcement to the people of Washington County.
To be candid, I know it is rather difficult to be thankful in our contemporary society that exhibits
decadence and depravity on every corner. The escalation of crime and hostilities can be observed everywhere.
During this season, let's not only remember to be thankful for the simple things in life - our family and friends,
our health, our prosperity, our religious faith - but let's also remember the barren and destiture people
within our society. As Americans, let's not display apathy toward the social outcast.
In closing to quote the Rev. Billy Graham, "95 percent of the difficulties you will experience as a
Christian can be traced to a lack of Bible study and praying."
After acutely analyzing your cover story written on the Y2K Millennium bug and the Ozark Mountain Land Rish, let
me insert this Christian concept.
About 20 years ago, this Christian lady named Corrie Ten Boom had a prophecy or prediction that "Northwest Arkansas
would be the center of the Christian movement in the last days of America."
Now, let me ask this hypothetical question. If Corrie Ten Boom's prophecy is valid, does this Y2K millennium bug
and the Ozark mountain land rush have something to do with it?
I've met various people within the past few years in Madison County that believe "God told them to relocate to Northwest
Arkansas, because Northwest Arkansas is a safe haven to ride out the coming economic depression to America."
In closing, I thoroughly enjoyed the article, and please continue to keep the readers informed about this Y2K phenomenon.
After going on a tour through the new Benton County Jail a few weeks back, let me make this one observation.
If an individual gets arrested in Benton County, not only will he or she receive a complimentary Andy Lee leisure suit (jail
uniform), but will be housed in a no-frills correctional facility that won't be anything like going over to grandma's house.
I adamantly appreciate the moral courage and valor of Rep. Andrew Morris, R-Siloam Springs, for introducing legislation
that would allow the posting of the Ten Commandments in public schools and government buildings.
This nation was founded on moral values and Christianity, but this contemporary society in which we live in today
seems barren of any moral integrity or virtue.
The Ten Commandments are time-honored absolutes of right and wrong, and I vehemently support this legislation by
Andrew Morris.
In closing, thank you, Rep. Morris for your moral courage to stand up for what is right for Arkansas.
At this time, I would like to pay homage to this year's Arkansas Razorback basketball team. Many avid and devout
Razorback enthusiasts have relished observing this impeccable squad of outstanding players like seniors Kareem Reid,
Derek Hood and Pat Bradley.
This year's basketball team exhibited these pertinent variables: maturity, temperance, diligence and perseverance.
Also, the athletes overt demeanor, displayed proficiency and finesse.
Thank you Coach Richardson and the basketball Razorbacks for a magnanimous season.
At this time I would like to expound on the origin and historical beliefs of the Republican Party.
The Republican Party dates back to the strong anti-slavery opposition to the Kansas-Nebraska Bill of 1854.
As passed by Congress in May 1854, the bill permitted slavery in the new territories of Kansas and Nebraska if the
people there voted for it.
Anti-slavery meetings throughout the north had condemned the Kansas-Nebraska Bill. On Feb 28, 1854, Alvan Bovay had
held such a meeting in Ripon, Wis., and this meeting passed a resolution proclaiming the birth of a new party -- the
Republican Party -- if Congress passed the Kansas-Nebraska Bill.
Bovay held a second meeting in Ripon on March 20, 1854, after the Senate passed the Kansas-Nebraska Bill. At a party
gathering in Jackson, Mich., on July 6, 1854, the delegates formally adopted the name "Republican."
The Republican Party's platform has changed very little down through the years since its conception in 1854.
Let me now insert some contemporary Republican Party beliefs:
- Sound conservative economic and monetary policies.
- A formidable U.S. military presence around the world.
- Less government restraints on an individual's freedoms and liberties.
- Strong moral and ethical views implemented upon our society.
In closing, I adamantly perceive the Republican Party to be the political party of the future in the state of Arkansas
because of its vision to reach out to all the people.
Remember me! I'm the Guy who was "Preacing The Little Sermon" on the Madison County Court House front steps on Thursday
morning, May 6, between the hours of 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
While I was publicly reading the word of God, you confronted me about what I was doing. I explained to you about the
"48 hours in the word" and etc., etc.
I forgot to tell you about three people who can attest to my moral character, and motives.
First, my pastor, Rev. Rusty Blann at Huntsville First Assembly of God Church. Secondly, my friend, Rev. Butch Bolinger.
Isn't Butch the jail Chaplain at the Madison County Sheriff's office?
Finally, my friend and Republican mentor, Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee. Call Andy, and have him run checks on me to
see if I have any outstanding warrants, okay! If Andy is not in, ast the Chief Deputy Don Townsend, or Major Nelson
Erdmann, or Captain Gene Drake and etc., etc., okay!
I am not a drug dealer, or bootlegger, nor do I own a dancing girl strip club.
I'm a preacher that wants to see almighty God move in Madison County, Arkansas. Also, I'm the guy who has all those
signs in that building on the Huntsville Town Square, okay!
In closing, yes, I'm the Guy who was "Preaching The Little Sermon" on the Madison County Court House front steps on
Thursday morning, May 6, between the hours of 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and Jesus is Lord over northwest Arkansas - Romans
10:9-10.
Rev. Bill
(A.K.A.) The Guy Who Was "Preaching The Little Sermon"
The escalating number of DWIs and public intoxications that occur within this area each week are appalling.
My bias is that it is imperative that something be implemented to deter this deviant form of social behavior.
If citizens in Northwest Arkansas would take a public stand against drunk driving, it would be salient.
I advocate austere DWI enactments, the genesis of programs like MADD and SADD and the increased involvement of area
churches to help deter this problem of alcohol abuse in Northwest Arkansas. Also, I would like to congratulate
Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee for the creation and implementation of the Benton County DWI Task Force and for
helping making our thououghfares in Northwest Arkansas safer.
To be candid, I know it is rather difficult to be thankful in our contemporary secular society that exhibits decadence and
depravity on every corner.
The escalation of crime, vice, hostility and antagonism can be observed everywhere.
During this holiday season, let's not only be thankful for the simple things in life: Our family and friends, our
health, our prosperity, our religious faith but let's also remember the barren and destitute people in our society.
As Americans, let's not display apathy toward the social outcast.
In closing, to quote the Rev. Billy Graham, "Ninety-five percent of the difficulties you will experience as a Christian
can be traced to a lack of Bible study and praying."
Since the new Benton County Jail has been open for almost one year now, I would like to make this one observation about
this correctional facility.
If an individual gets arrested in Benton County, not only will he or she receive a complimentary Andy Lee leisure
suit (jail uniform), but will be housed in a no-frills correctional facility that won't be anything like going over
to grandma's house.
What is happening to our First Amendment Constitutional right to freedom of religion? It was my understanding
that the U.S. government must preserve and protect our religious rights and liberties, but cannot advocate and promote
religion.
Now there...it is the current hostility and bigotry toward religion and people of faith that is leading to covert and
overt attempts to omit religious influences from the public arena. Examples: Banishing prayer from public schools,
prohibiting the distribution of salvation tracts in public areas, etc.
The American people need to be vigilant and coherent of what is transpiring around them.
In reference to letter entitled "What's Happening To Religious Freedom?". What freedom has Rev. Bill lost? I am
an evangelical Christian, and I have not lost any freedom.
The freedoms Rev. Bill lists as having been taken away from him and other Christians are not true freedoms in the
first place. How is it religious freedom for evangelicals to be able to pray sermons out loud in public schools?
Christians can no longer read in public schools their version of the Bible or the Ten Commandments. Christians can no
longer push their version of salvation onto public-school students. How does this take away our freedom?
It seems to me that the non-evangelical Christians have finally been given freedom from the praying and preaching
of us evangelicals. Remember, when the heathen loses his right to be heathen by laws passed by the government, then
in time the Christians will lose their rights with the same law. I would like to suggest that all Christians
who believe they have lost freedoms or are being persecuted by the government find out about the freedoms other
Christians have in other countries of the world. It is time for the Christians to stop their whine about being
persecuted and mistreated and begin to look into their own relationship with Christ. We do not make Christians with
laws and force religious rituals; we make them by showing them the love of Christ and letting God do His work.
Northwest Arkansas was dealt a mortal blow a few years back when various
adult exotic-dancing establishments opened in the area. Why? Because these
lewd businesses only foster more immoral activities such as increased drug
trafficking and the oldest profession in the world - prostitution.
Also, let me add that these lascivious establishments cause area
law-enforcement officers more headaches than they need.
Northwest Arkansas has always had the reputation of being in the
"Bible Belt" because of our conservative, traditional Christian values.
The question is, what happened?
Since I perceive Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee to be one of the best sheriffs this state has ever produced since its conception in 1836, does he have political ambitions to someday be Arkansas Gov. Andy Lee?
Are the days of unethical politicians over in Northwest Arkansas?
I'm one voter who believes all elected political leaders should have a higher standard of morals, ethics and
virtuous conduct than anyone else.
Maybe I'm too conservative. I just don't know.
While on an excursion down a rural Benton County road, I came upon an appalling sight. Beer cans and other
debris were resting along the culvert. I knew right off that this was the work of some 'good ole boys'.
'Good ole boys', if you want to indulge in the consumption of alcoholic beverages, that is between you and
the Lord. I just wish to admonish you and say please dispose of your debris properly so other civilized people
won't have to clean up your mess.
The premise behind these rising gas prices is based on greed, lust and avarice.
The U.S. Congress, the oil producers and the commercial distributors need to find a compromising solution on how to get
these rising gas prices down to a tolerable level.
Let's say 32 cents a gallon for regular unleaded. Sounds good to me!
In 1952, Congress passed a joint resolution signed by President Truman establishing the annual National Day
of Prayer. This enactment was amended in 1988 and signed by President Reagan, permanently setting the day as the
first Thursday in May.
On May 6, thousands of pious Christians from around the nation will participate in this sacred event. Some Christians
will erect cliques and intercede in public areas; for example, on the steps adjacent to county courthouses or
municipal city halls. Other Christians, such as high-school students, may wish to be in supplication standing adjacent
to their school's flagpole and other Christians pray as individuals in the serenity of their own abode.
However the Holy Spirit directs one to pray on Thursday, May 6, let's remember to intercede to God for a spiritual
awakening or renaissance for our nation. Pray that God heals our land and its inhabitants. Intercession will change
the course of our country.
In closing, the immortal words of President Lincoln: "The only assurance of our nation's safety is to lay
our foundation in morality and religion."
After reading the obtuse letter written by Jane Miller of Fayetteville pertaining to the ongoing conflict between
Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee and Benton County Public Defender Charles Duell, let me declare a positive rebuttal.
It's my fervent sentiment that Charles Duell is not one-half the man that Andy Lee is or ever will be.
Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee is the best sheriff in the state of Arkansas and that's the bottom line.
After a decade of hostile encounters, when will the Benton County Quorum Court come to the realization that
Benton County Sheriff Andy Lee won't back down from a challenge, real or perceived?
I adamantly admire Sheriff Lee, because he is a fighter who is not afraid to get his nose bloody.
It's a known fact that Arkansas is one of the leading states in the nation
in the production of meth. Why is this true? It's because Arkansas, mainly
Northwest Arkansas, has various remote and secluded areas that these
clandestine meth producers can operate in without detection from local
law-enforcement authorities.
Twenty-five years ago, the drug of choice in Northwest Arkansas was
marijuana because drug producers would grow this illegal substance in
isolated and quarantined-off areas.
The drug of choice today is meth because this drug is somewhat simple to
manufacture with everyday household chemicals.
In closing, I appreciate the law-enforcement efforts of Sheriff Andy Lee and
the Benton County Sheriff's Office in sending a formidable message to meth
producers in Northwest Arkansas. Keep up the good work.
Things have gotten totally out of hand concerning the school prayer issue in
this nation. The overt premise is based on the concept of separation of
church and state as interpreted by the U.S. Supreme Court.
I perceive it's an asinine farce to ban prayer in public school or to
prohibit the display of the Ten Commandments on the wall.
The question is how soon we can expect the U.S. Supreme Court to decide that
laws against murder and thievery are unconstitutional. Remember, both are
proscribed in the Ten Commandments.
At this time, I would like to make a statement that exhibits merit and validity so it's not a moot controversity.
Since I'm an avid enthusiast of Benton County politics, why does Benton County receive a multitude of negative
statewide publicity?
Is it because Benton County is the only Republican stronghold in Arkansas and the rest of the 74 counties are
predominantly Democratic?
Now, I was named after after both my Grand-Daddy's or at least it looks that way.
Grand-Daddy Bill Boatright was a Democrat, but Grand-Daddy Bill Ledbetter was a Republican.
So I guess, I'm a political half-breed: I'm half Grand-Daddy Boatright, and I'm half Grand-Daddy Ledbetter.
Rev. Bill, November 7, 2000 - Election Day
I'm fervently compelled by the Holy Spirit to attest to this spiritual deposition not to glorify Bill Boatright because
Bill Boatright is a nobody, but to exalt this man from Nazareth, Isreal, named Jesus.
On Tuesday afternoon, July 11, 2000, I entered the door of the North Hills Surgery Center at 3271 North Wimberly
Drive, Fayetteville, Arkansas to undergo major knee surgery.
Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Tom Coker, Jr., repaired my ruptured patella tendon and dislocated knee cap in a two hour surgery.
From Monday, September 25, I underwent extensive outpatient rehabilition therapy for my knee at the Health South Sports
Medicine Clinic located at 3317 North Wimberly Drive, Fayetteville, Arkansas. My physical therapist was Jason Cole.
Both my orthopedic surgeon and my physical therapist were astonished and bewildered at my performance while undergoing
my physical therapy after having underwent major knee surgery with the physical evidence of a six inch scar.
Since Tuesday, September 26, I walk at least two miles each day wearing three pound ankle weights while quoting various
healing scriptures to myself to myself like: Isaiah 53:4-6, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24, Psalm 103:1-5, Jeremiah 30:17,
Acts 10:38, Romans 8:11, Isaiah 40:31, and etc. - etc.
Also, since Tuesday, October 3, I've been walking up and down the stairs within my domicile maybe 75 to 100 times per
day wearing those three pound ankle weights and quoting those healing scriptures to myself.
Monday, November 27, I will undergo my second knee surgery at the North Hills Surgery Center in Fayetteville. Dr. Tom
Coker, Jr., will remove the hardware (boxwire) from my knee. My knee is totally wired up.
In closing, I wish to say thanks to the Christian folks who interceded to God on behalf of my physical healing in the name
of Jesus.
Jesus is "Jehovah - Rapha" - the Lord that healeth. Isaiah 35:3 - "Strengthen my weak hands, and make firm my feeble
kneew."
Rev. Bill - November 2, 2000
Dear Editor:
Last Friday morning, December 8, I came to the unexpected realization that my checkbook was missing.
I backtracked back to a few Huntsville businesses in search of that missing check book, but to no avail.
I just felt my missing check book had fallen into the evil hands of the criminal element.
I phoned the Arvest Bank of Huntsville to report my missing check book. A woman there informed me my missing
check book was in the bank's possession, and that a resident had returned it.
I thank that resident. It does my heart good to know that there are still honest, conscientious people out there
in the world.
Since Sheriff Andy Lee has won his seventh consecutive term as Benton County sheriff, I would like to make an astute
observation.
Why do Lee's political foes always attack his character and moral virtue, but never want to discuss or debate
the political issues?
Is it because Lee's political foes know that Lee runs a very pro-active law enforcement organization and that he is
one of the best sheriffs Arkansas has ever produced in its history since 1836?
In June, I was involved in a freak accident in which I suffered severe trauma to my knee.
After undergoing two different knee surgeries on July 11 and Dec. 15, I would like to say thank you to the following
individuals who treated my injured knee and put me back on the theraputic path to healing.
First, my orthopaedic surgeon at the Ozark Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic, Dr. Coker. Second, the surgery team
at the North Hills Surgery Center.
Third, my physical therapist at the Center, Mr. Cole.
I truly, appreciate the kindness and concern that these medical professionals exhibited toward me during my time of
personal crisis.
At this time, I have three pertinent questions about racism that exhibit merit and validity.
1) When will this absurd and asinine concept known in our secular pluralistic society as racism be terminated and abolished?
2) When will all ethnic factions exhibit cohesion and learn to assimilate together in the U.S.?
3) When will all ethnic hostilities and overt antagonism be acutely banished from the U.S.?
In closing, I perceive and discern that racism is theoligically wrong and morally a sin. Races must learn to coexist together to keep the United States a formidable nation.
The other evening I was viewing the ten o'clock news, and they had a news story about smoking cigarettes, and lung cancer.
The news story said that the state of Arkansas has the highest rate of lung cancer in the nation, and the highest number of cigarette smokers per population withing the nation. This data absolutely astonished me.
My question is, why would anybody want to use their lungs for an incinerator?
On the cigarette package is the warning that cigarette smoking may lead to lung cancer, heart disease, and other health problems, and people still light up.
Don't people know that nicotine is the main ingredient in pesticides and insecticides used to kill rodents, insects, and bugs?
I've never smoked cigarettes nor am I planning on starting tomorrow. As far as I'm concerned, cigarette smokers can keep their smoke to themselves.
Here in our contemporary pluralistic society there is a pestilence that is sweeping across our nation, and every deterrent has been effective against it. I'm referring to this pestilence called pornography.
In recent years, we have seen our convenience stores and video stores exhibit this obscene material. From magazines to X-rated movies, this vile and vulgar merchandise is being purchased by the general populace.
Many lawmakers have not yet been able to enact any sanctions against this filth that will regulate the enforcement against those who sell or display this porn material. Also, the judicial system claims they cannot define obscenity and they don't know when to chastise a person for breaking the law.
In closing, I advocate and promote the citizens within their local municipalities confront thier city council to impose an ordinance against this pornography can be implemented.
At this time I wish to pay homage to two outstanding civil servants from Madison County. I'm referring to Madison County Assessor Joe Moffett and Madison County Clerk Aaron Ledbetter.
First, I truly appreciate these two men for their impeccable character, candor, and integrity that each man exhibits within their overt behavior.
Joe displays wisdom and rationality in handling the evaluation of property taxation in Madison County while Aaron manifests prudence and discretion in handling probate legal matters within the county.
I also attest that these two men adhere to a professional code of governmental ethics and virtue.
In closing, let me adamantly proclaim that both county officials welcome all people (Democrats and Republicans alike) into their various public offices with courtesy, politeness, and tact.
People of Madison County have two public servants, both Joe and Aaron, that really care about the people.
Things have gotten totally out of hand concerning the school prayer issue in this nation. The overt premise is based on the concept of separation of church and state as interpreted by the U.S. Supreme Court.
I perceive it's an asinine farce to ban prayer in public school or to prohibit the display of the Ten Commandments on the wall.
My question is, how soon can we expect the U.S. Supreme Court to declare that laws against murder and thievery are unconstitutional? Remember, both are proscribed in the Ten Commandents.
At this time, I vehemently feel compelled to pay homage and veneration to the 'Times' writing staff.
First, these devout folks are proven journalistic professionals who know how to get to the apex of a controversional issue. After reading this informative publication for a number of years, I can adamantly proclaim with candor and attest that the 'Times' staff never reports a moot story, but always strives to get to the core root of every political, community or business issue at hand.
'Times' writing staff, thank you, for a job well done. I enjoy reading the 'Times'.
It's astonishing and appalling at what is transpiring in Northwest Arkansas. I'm referring to the escalating number of DWIs and public intoxications that occur in this area on a weekly basis.
It seems to me much of the populace within Northwest Arkansas exhibits apathy, indifference or unconcern with this prolific problem of alcohol abuse. My bias is that it is imperative that something must be implemented to deter this deviate form of social overt behavior.
In closing, I advocate and sanction stern DWI enactments and chastisements, the genesis of programs like MADD and SADD and the increased involvement of area churches to help deter this problem of alcohol abuse in Northwest Arkansas.
The bottom line is we need to get drunken drivers off our municipal thoroughfares before they injure or kill som innocent individual.
The premise behind these rising gas prices is based on greed, lust and avarice.
President Bush, the U.S. Congress, the oil producers and the commercial distributors need to find a compromising solution on how to get these rising gas prices down to a tolerable level.
Let's say 32 cents a gallon for regular unleaded. Sounds good to me.
I'm constructing this epistle as a protest or denouncing any action within our secular pluralistic society, but to advocate and erect a pertinent concept.
First, I'm satiated, disenchanted, and disillusioned with folks in the area of Christendom who acutely exhibit verbal hostility anumus toward our 42nd President Bill Clinton.
In closing, let me admonish readers that we need to implement prayer, intercession and supplication on behalf of President Clinton. God can give this man wisdom, prudence, rationale, and discretion to make correct decisions that effect Americans.
While on an excursion down a rural Madison County road to visit a friend, I came upon an appalling sight. Beer cans and other
debris were resting along the culvert. I knew right off that this was the work of some "good ole boys".
"Good old boys", if you want to indulge in the consumption of alcoholic beverages, that is between you and the Lord. I
just wish to admonish you and say please dispose of your debris properly so other civilized people won't have to clean
up your mess.
Since I'm an avid enthusiast of Benton County politics, I'm wondering who the next elected sheriff will be if Andy Lee gets appointed by President Bush as the next U.S. Marshall for the Western District of Arkansas based in Fort Smith.
Will sheriff's Maj. Nelson Erdmann, Little Flock Police Chief Ken Parker or some political dark horse be the next elected sheriff of Benton County? It will be very interesting to watch this sheriff's race in 2002.
I'm writing this letter to alert your readers to the fact that deviant crimes do occur in rural areas. The Huntsville Police Department does a magnanimous job at deterring crime, but their activity is finite.
I advocate that each neighborhood within Huntsville activate a neighborhood crime watch. A concept in which each neighbor will observe their other neighbor's property while they are gone from their home. If one observes erratic activity in their neighborhood, just contact the police immediately.
Helping to deter crime in Huntsville should be everyone's concern.
Since summer has arrived, I would like to insert a brief history on the landmark recreation area on Beaver Lake known as Hogscald Hollow.
First, the geographical locality of Hogscald Hollow is a few miles south of Eureka Springs off Arkansas 23 in Carroll County.
Early settlers used the hollow area for butchering hogs. This is how the area got its name.
During the Civil War in the early 1860s, Confederate troops made whiskey in and around this same area.
The Hogscald Hollow area became popular once again when the lake was filled in the early 1960s and it gained notoriety for nude bathing. The popularity of skinny dipping came because of the remoteness of the area.
For the past 20 years, the Hogscald Hollow area has been known for boating, swimming, skinny dipping and vehement partiers. Recent incidents to the area have included drownings, a fall, a stabbing and a murdered body found floating in the water.
In closing, some people discern the Hogscald Hollow area to have some mysterious aura about it because of its association with death and other tragedies in recent years.
I'm constructing this epistle not as a protest or denouncing any faction within our secular pluralistic society but to advocate and endorse a pertinent concept.
First, I'm satiated and disillusioned with some folks in the area of Christendom that acutely exhibit verbal hostility and animus toward our 43rd president, George W. Bush.
In closing, let me admonish the readers that wee need to implement prayer, intercession and supplication on behalf of President Bush so God can give this man wisdom and prudence to make correct decisions that affect all Americans.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette had an article on various crime rates within Northwest Arkansas during the 1999-2000 period.
The article denoted that Madison County's crime rate increased over 20% during this time period, which was the highest
crime rate in Northwest Arkansas.
I wonder why Sheriff Morgan hasn't implemented proactive law enforcement strategies, and tactics that would drastically reduce this crime rate in Madison County.
I discern if a county has a low crime rate that it is the result of impeccable police work. Also, I percieve if a county has a high crime rate that it is the result of the local citizens reporting more deviate crimes along with insufficient policing.
In closing, I adamantly hold to the sentiment that the major objective of any law enforcement agency should be to utilize proactive crime prevention.
Public schools in Pearl, Miss., Paducah, Ken., Jonesboro, Springfield, Ore., and Littleton, Colo., have all come under attack by nefarious, sinister influences over the past few years. Why? Why do kids maim, kill and psychologically torment other kids? Just what is to blame for all this dastardly school violence?
Could the problem be too much school violence on television? Or could the problem be the debased video games that kids play? What about the German-Goth music that the kids listen to all the time? Still yet, maybe the problem is what the kids are viewing on the Internet?
I vehemently perceive that the germane problem is due to apathetic and irresponsible parents that will not instill moral values and character-building in their children at an early age.
In closing, when will all this erratic school violence stop in America?
The Benton County Jail has the vehement distinction of being touted as one of the toughest county jails in the entire United States.
The pertinent reason for this distinguished reputation is due to the fact that Sheriff Andy Lee operates a no-frills correctional facility. Tobacco products, coffee, snacks, soda pop, television, radio and other luxuries are austerely prohibited.
I appreciate the fact that Sheriff Lee doesn't coddle or pamper these criminals that are incarcerated inside the Benton County Jail.
Osama Bin Laden established the Al-Qaeda terrorist network in 1990 with the sole purpose to bring together all Arabs to fight a Jihad or "Holy War" against Western Civilization. The Al-Qaeda network has created terrorist cells in more than 50 different countries, and is linked to other radical terrorist groups, including Egypt's Al-Jihad.
The Taliban and it's leader, Mullah Mohammed Omar, took over in 1997 as the official government of Afghanistan. For the past four years, the Taliban has been staunch supporters of Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda.
Osama Bin Laden's directive commands Al-Qaeda to kill Christians and Jews, to kill all Americans and make no distinctions among military and civilizations, including women and children.
In closing, America must win this war on terrorism, and eradicate this evil from the entire globe even if it takes utilizing nuclear weapons to accomplish this military objective.
To be candid, I know it is rather difficult to be thankful in our contemporary society that exhibits decadence and depravity on every corner.
During this holiday season, let's not only remember to be thankful for the simple things in life - our families and friends, our health, our prosperity, our faith - but let's also remember the barren and destitute people within society.
As Americans, let's not display apathy toward society's outcasts.
In closing, to quote the Rev. Billy Graham, "95 percent of the difficulties you will experience in life as a Christian will be traced to a lack of Bible study and praying."
The Apostle Paul describes gossips and busybodies in 1 Timothy 5:13.
The word gossip means to spread sensational or intimate facts about some individual. A busybody is an inquisitive person who interferes with someone else's business.
I perceive more people have been murdered by gossip than by guns or knives.
Anyway, this is something to ponder during this holiday season.
After a decade of hostile encounters with the Benton County Quorum Court, it now appears Sheriff Andy Lee has become more serene and tranquil in recent months. Maybe Lee has had a change of heart and wants to be less combative with the Quorum Court. Who knows? Anyway, I discern Lee to be the best sheriff Arkansas has produced since it became a state in 1836.
I acutely discern that the pertinent objective of Osama Bin Laden and his Afghan terrorist faction "al-Qaida" is to stop, eliminate and destroy not only America but the entire civilization of the western world.
Osama Bin Laden's germaine aim is to remake the entire world and impose his radical, perverted Islamic beliefs on people everywhere. Osama Bin Laden wants to create a jihad or holy war against the infidels which I perceive is western civilization. Also callous terrorist factions operate in the Middle Eastern nations of Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Sudan and Uzbekistan.
In closing, America's adversary is not our numerous Arab Muslim friends, but a radical network of cowardly terrorists and every government that endorses and aids them.
The United States has not won a political, military conflict since the closing days of World War II in August, 1945.
The United States never won the Korean War, the Vietnam War, nor did the U.S. really win the Persian Gulf War.
An act of war was perpetrated against the United States on September 11, 2001, by some cowardly terrorist faction of unknown origin. This terrorist attack hasn't instilled fear into the American people, but has produced the total opposite effect. This attack has aroused anger and total indignation.
God-fearing Americans, Democrats and Republicans, Catholics and Protestants alike, are going to stand shoulder to shoulder because of these events that occurred on September 11, 2001, and demand retribution and justice.
America is the greatest nation on Planet Earth, and the American People are going to prove this fact once and for all to the rest of the World.
Almighty God has put an inherent quality into the American people, and that trait is known as self-determination.
There are five major world religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity.
Since I'm an avid enthuiast of world history, I would like to proclaim with candor and attest that most political, military conflicts occur because two geo-political entities have different religious philosophies.
In closing, this conflict in Afghanistan could be summed up as a religious war between Islam and Christianity.
Booked into a local municipal correctional facility in Northwest Arkansas were John Doe, DWI No. 1, bond set at $1,200, and Jane Doe, public intoxication, bond set at $850.
If holiday revelers are smart, they won't drink and drive on our highways and byways, because area law enforcement officials will be out in full force during this holiday season.
I appreciate the efforts of the Benton County sheriff's office DWI task force and Sheriff Andy Lee for taking a staunch stand against drunk driving.
Since I'm an avid enthuiast of Benton County politics, why does Benton County receive a multitude of negative statewide publicity?
Is it because Benton County is the only Republican stronghold in Arkansas and the rest of the 74 counties are predominantly Democratic?
Things have gotten totally out of hand concerning the school prayer issue in this nation. The overt premise is based on the concept of separation of church and state as interpreted by the U.S. Supreme Court.
I perceive it's an asinine farce to ban prayer in public school or to prohibit the display of the Ten Commandments on the wall.
The question is how soon can we expect the U.S. Supreme Court to decide that laws againist murder and thievery are unconstitutional. Remember, both are proscribed in the Ten Commandments.
Why do some politicians always advocate more anti-gun enactments for America even after gun control has been vehemently discredited and gun ownership vindicated because of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution?
This anti-gun movement that some politicians endorse is built upon the perilous falsehood that sacrificing our guns can lead to much greater security in America.
I do not adhere to this ludicrous concept. I perceive firearms are used far more often to deter crimes than to commit them.
The U.S. courts have repeatedly affirmed that the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right not to be infringed upon. It should be noted that these same U.S. courts have held this view from day one of the gun control issue.
I discern that one of the major social problems within our society is the hostile act of sexual harassment.
Sexual harassment can be defined as any unwelcome sexual advance or requests for sexual favors. Also, any unwelcome verbal statement or a sexual nature can be classified as sexual harassment.
Individuals of whatever gender, male or female, should be able to live in a society that is free of all forms of sexual intimidation and exploration. Also, every individual should have the right and dignity to be protected from all forms of unprovoked sexual aggression.
In closing, anyone who is subjected to sexual harassment or to any unwanted or unwelcome overt sexual behavior should first try to resolve the problem by confronting the person engaging in the sexual harassment to stop the behavior because it is not wanted. If this doesn't work, take the sexual harassment problem to whatever authority or federal, state, or local entity so they can investigate all allegations of sexual harassment and then apply the appropriate remedy to correct the problem.
I perceive that the most debased social problem within our pluralistic society is illicit drub and alcohol abuse. This dilemma is extremely complex and offers no easy solution. From a safety perspective, the users of variant drugs and alcohol not only impair their own well-being, but pose a hazard to the public at large.
One of the pertinent cornerstones in promoting a drug-free community is education. By becoming familiar with the precise perils of drugs, each individual is better able to make informed, responsible decisions and determinations.
The germane dangers of variant drugs like alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, barbiturates and methamphetamines can be numerous. Nefarious side effects can range from physical and psychological dependency to liver, lung, heard, kidney, brain and nervous system disorders.
In closing, individuals who choose to abuse and defile their minds and physical bodies with these variant drugs need to become educated on the perils of chemical dependency before they either become incorrigible or dead.
Violence in the pursuit of political objectives has been a part of the human condition since the beginning of recorded history. In recent times, overt acts of violence have occurred globally with alarming frequency. The United States was abruptly drawn inito the global picture of violence perpetrated by international Arab terrorists last Sept. 11, 2001.
I would like to insert several reasons why the al-Qaida terrorist faction abhors and detests the United States.
1) America aids and supports the Jewish nation of Israel during this current conflict between Israel and Palestine.
2) During the 1991 Persian Gulf War, al-Qaida viewed America as defiling the Islamic holy sites of Medina and Mecca while American troops were stationed in Saudi Arabia.
3) al-Qaida despises American wealth, materialism and America's free-open society.
In closing, America must win this war on terrorism and eradicate this evil from the entire globe before al-Qaida utterly destroys our beloved nation.
The most important an American can do is practice good citizenship in their given community.
I would like to insert a list of factors that promote good citizenship.
1) Exhibiting patriotism and love for your country.
2) Obeying the laws of the land, Federal, State and local enactments.
3) Helping to maintain a clean and litter free community.
4) Contributing to the community through voting on election day, and performing volunteer services.
5) Being tolerant of other people's religious, political, and cultural beliefs.
In closing, helping to change your community can begin when each person decides to become committed to being
a positive contributor to his or her community.
Remember, it takes enthusiasm and commitment to practice good citizenship.
For the past 11 years, political pundits have acutely and adamantly debated the issue of why the 1991 Persian Gulf
War was terminated without Iraqi President Saddam Hussein subdued and vehemently removed from office.
Just who cut this war short of a political, military victory for the United States? Was it then-President
George Bush or the U.S. Congress? Now 11 years later, in 2002, another president named George Bush has to contend and debate
with this infamous Arab leader named Saddam Hussein.
The pertinent question is, does Saddam pose an imminent major threat to United States security? I discern the answer is
yes, and Saddam needs to be dealt with now rather than later.
The truth is that Saddam is nothing but a rogue and a dishonest scoundrel. This Arab thug is literally obsessed
on bringing about the total demise of America.
If the United States waits another five years to confront Saddam with military force, it will be too late, because he will
have his nuclear capability. Saddam needs to be dealt with now by an imposing and formidable military force by the United
States with or without our Arab allies by our side.
Over 30 years ago, the youth of America were granted a pardon from their political oppression and injustice.
The germane reason was that the 26th Amendment lowering the voting age to 18 years old was ratified on July 1, 1971.
This 26th Amendment states, "The right of citizens of the United States, who are 18 years of age or older, to vote shall
not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of age."
Since the ratification of youth suffrage in July 1971, I austerely perceive that some 18 year old individuals are still
apathetic or indifferent toward the political process. I adamantly discern this to be rather disturbing and deplorable.
Let me vehemently proclaim with candor and attest that voting in any election is not a right, but a cherished privilege.
In closing, if you are 18 years of age or older, and have not yet registered to vote, just contact your county clerk's office
to register.
Before 1920, women were considered second class citizens that were politically oppressed and held in bondage by their
male counterpart.
Today, women all over the United States cherish the date of August 16, 1920, because that was the day that women in the
United States were politically liberated forever. On this date, the 19th Amendment was ratified giving women the right to
vote. Female suffrage had come to America at last.
This 19th Amendment giving nationwide suffrage to women states - "The right of citizens of the United States to vote
shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex."
For the past 82 years, women have made colossal strives in the political arena. From United States Senators to
local city council women, females have captured the essence of contemporary politics.
Multitudes of female office holders have made eloquent and poignant contributions not only to their constituents, but to
humanity as a whole.
It has done my heart good observing women throwing off the shackles of political tyranny and oppression.
On any cigarette package is the austere warning that cigarette smoking may lead to lung cancer, heart disease
and other health problems, and people still light up.
My question is, why would anybody want to use their lungs for an incubator?
Don't people know that nicotine is the main ingredient in pesticides and insecticides used to kill rodents, insects and
bugs?
I've never smoked cigarettes nor am I planning on starting tomorrow. As far as I'm concerned, cigarette smokers can keep their
smoke to themselves.
During World War II, America was confronting this evil regime name Nazism. From the late 1040's to the late
1980's, America was restraining this wicked political ideology called communism. On September 11, 2001, America was introduced
to another 'ism', called terrorism.
Just what is terrorism? Terrorism is best defined as being the act of using intimidation or fear to attain one's goals
or to advance one's political cause. The real weapon of terrorism is not hijacked airplanes, bombs, or guns, but
intimidation and fear. When people are under the threat of intimidation or fear it is hard for them to resist the
oppression that has come against them.
I discern the only way for Americans to confront terrorism is to reject being intimidated and being fearful. I perceive
fear to be one of the strongest emotions known to humanity, and Americans must reject the emotion of fear.
In closing, Americans can either choose to walk in fear and intimidation or courage and valor. Myself, I choose to walk
in the latter.
For the past 14 years, Sheriff Andy Lee has brought professional and proficient law enforcement to the citizens
of Benton County. Three candidates have filed in the upcoming May Republican primary to replace him.
I perceive the most qualified candidate to replace Lee is Maj. Nelson Erdmann. Erdmann has more than 20 years of law
enforcement experience, including serving as police chief of Harrison and Little Flock.
He has gained a vast knowledge of all aspects of the Benton County sheriff's office, serving as operations commander of
criminal investigations, patrol and the jail.
The knowledge and experience that Erdmann possessed are vital for continued success of the sheriff's office.
He is the only candate who can move the Benton County sheriff's office forward in the 21st century.
Why do some liberal politicians always advocate more anti-gun enactments for
America, even after gun control has been vehemently discredited and gun
ownership vindicated because of the Second Amendment to the U.S.
Constitution?
This anti-gun movement that some liberal politicians endorse is built upon
the perilous falsehood that sacrificing our guns can lead to much greater
security in America.
I do not adhere to this ludicrous concept. I perceive firearms are used far
more often to deter crimes than to commit them.
The U.S. courts have repeatedly affirmed that the right to keep and bear
arms is an individual right not to be infringed upon. It should be noted
that these same U.S. courts have held this view from day one of the gun
control issue.

At this time, I feel compelled to pay homage not only to the print journalism editor of the local paper, but
to all the writing staff.
First, these devout folks are proven journalistic professionals who know how to get to the apex of a controversional
issue. After reading this informative publication for a number of years, I can proclaim with candor and attest that the
staff never report a moot story, but always strive to get to the core root of every political, community, or business
issue at hand.
In closing, the editor and staff, thank you, for a job well done. Also, let me encourage readers to consider giving a
subscription of the paper to family and friends. This would make a nice gift.
It's a known fact that Arkansas is one of the leading states in the union in the production of meth. Why is this true?
It's because Arkansas, mainly Northwest Arkansas, has various remote and secluded areas that these clandestine meth producers
can operate without detection from local law enforcement authorities.
Twenty-five years ago the drug of choice in Northwest Arkansas was marijuana because drug producers would grow this illegal
substance in isolated and quarantined-off areas. The drug of choice today is meth because this drug is somewhat simple
to manufacture with everyday household chemicals.
In closing, I appreciate the law enforcement efforts of the sheriff's office and the police department in sending a formidable
message to meth producers in Madison County. Keep up the good work.
Things have gotten totally out of hand concerning the school prayer issue in this nation. The overt premise is based
on the concept of separation of church and state as interpreted by the U.S. Supreme Court.
I perceive it's an asinine farce to ban prayer in public school or to prohibit the display of the Ten Commandments on
the wall. The question is how soon we can expect the Supreme Court to decide that laws against murder and thievery are
unconstitutional. Remember, both are proscribed in the Ten Commandments.
Since the passing of Governor Orval E. Faubus, I have acutely reminisced on the pertinent accomplishments this man
endured during his lifetime.
From his scant and meek childhood in southern Madison County to being elected governor of Arkansas by the electorate is
rather astonishing and bewildering. Let me also insert this man held no college degree nor was he an attorney, but
was self-educated, and exhibited a political charisma that was extremely perplexing.
Gov. Faubus held various job descriptions from cutting hickory staves as a lad to school teacher, Circuit Clerk, Postmaster,
Newspaper Publisher and Editor, Governor, and then other governmental positions. Gov. Faubus had to be one of the most
ambitious individuals to ever reside within the state of Arkansas.
I was not as privileged to interact with Gov. Faubus like others were, but I vehemently declare he was a remarkable man.
In closing, let me reflect that Gov. Faubus never forgot the common man, his humble beginnings in southern Madison County, and his austere
rapport with Almighty God.
I perceive that the most debased social problem within our pluralistic society is illicit drug and alchol abuse. This dilemma is extremely
complex and offers no easy solution. From a safety perspective, the users of variant drugs and alcohol not only impair their own well-being, but pose a hazard
to the public at large.
One of the pertinent cornerstones in promoting a drug-free community is education. By becoming familiar with the precise perils of drugs, each individual is better able to make
informed, responsible decisions and determinations.
The germane dangers of variant drugs like alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, barbiturates and methamphetamine can be numerous. Nefarious side effects can range from
physical and psychological dependency to liver, lung, heart, kidney, brain and nervous system disorders.
Individuals who choose to abuse and defile their minds and physical bodies with these variant drugs need to become educated on the perils of chemical dependency before they either become
incorrigible or dead.
The escalating number of driving while intoxicated and public intoxication (offenses) that occur within Northwest Arkansas on a weekly basis are appalling.
My bias is that it is imperitave that something be implemented to deter this deviant form of social overt behavior.
If citizens within Northwest Arkansas would take an obdurate public stand against drunk driving it would be salient.
In closing, I advocate austere DWI enactments, the genesis of programs like (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and (Students Against Drunk Driving), and the increased involvement of area
churches to help deter this problem of alcohol abuse within Northwest Arkansas.

To eradicate drugs from any given community, law enforcement must become resolute and determined to achieve this objective.
In closing, I appreciate the law enforcement efforts of the Madison County Sheriff's Office and the Huntsville Police Department in sending out a zero-tolerance message to these criminal drug
thugs throughout Madison County.
I feel compelled to recognize and acknowledge at this time some superior civic servants that exhibit prudence and rationale in handling our municipal affairs. I'm referring to Mayor Larry
Bates and the Huntsville City Council.
I appreciate the contributions that these elite municipal officers display. Also, I truly appreciate the impeccable character, candor, and integrity that each municipal officer exhibits.
These men and women that serve proudly on our municipal synod adhere to a professional code of ethics.
I must be candid and declare I'm satiated, disenchanted and disillusioned with some members of our quaint municipality that acutely exhibit verbal hostility and animus toward these public
servants.
In closing, I perceive or discern that the Huntsville City Council is an entity that catches a lot of unnecessary grievance or variance.
It's time the populace of Huntsville stand behind Mayor Bates and the Huntsville City Council.

in sending out a zero tolerance message to these drunk drivers.

I appreciate the law enforcement efforts of Sheriff Keith Ferguson and the Benton County sheriff's office in sending a formidable message to meth producers. Keep up the good work.
My pertinent objective in constructing this epistle is to proclaim that I austerely relish Kevin's sports column entitled, "Old Eagle."
Kevin's impeccable expertise in the area of kinesiology and physical education has given him the astute discernment to critique athletic teams and in particular an athlete's ability or finesse.
Whether the sport is football, basketball, baseball, soccer and etc., Kevin's insight into a team's offensive strategy or defensive tactics is extraordinarily remarkable. Kevin possesses an uncanny perception
into all sports teams in general.
In closing, let me vehemently proclaim with candor and attest the Kevin's sports column has been an asset to the newspaper, and his loquacious rhetorical prose remind me of his late father's
scholarly, verbose manifestos.
To be candid, I know it is rather perilous or difficult in our contemporary secular pluralistic society that exhibits decadence and depravity on every corner. The escalation of crime, vices,
hostilities, and overt antagonism can be observed everywhere.
On Thanksgiving Day, let's not only remember to be thankful for the simple things in life: our family and friends, our health, our prosperity, and our religious faith, but let's also remember
the barren and destitute people within our society. As Americans, let's not display apathy or indifference to the social outcast.
In closing, I wish to quote Evangelist Billy Graham, "Ninety-five percent of the difficulties you will experience as a Christian can be traced to a lack of Bible study, and praying."
The al-Qa'ida terrorist faction is literally obsessed with bringing about the total demise of America. There are numerous reasons al-Qa'ida abhors and detests the United States, but I would
like to focus on the big three.
- America aids and supports the Jewish nation of Israel during this current conflict between Israel and Palestine.
- During the 1991 Persian Gulf War, al-Qa'ida viewed America as defiling the Islamic holy sites of Medina and Mecca while American troops were stationed in Saudi Arabia.
- Al-Qa'ida despises American wealth and meterialism and America's free, open society.
America must win this war on terrorism and eradicate this evil from the entire globe before al-Qa'ida utterly destroys our beloved nation.
Violence in the pursuit of political objectives has been a part of the human condition since the beginning of recorded history.
In recent times, overt acts of violence have occurred globally with alarming frequency. The United States was abruptly drawn into the global picture of violence perpetuated by international
Arab terrorists last Sept. 11.
I would like to insert several reasons why the al-Qa'ida terrorist faction abhors and detests the United States. America aids and supports the Jewish nation of Israel during this current
conflict between Israel and Palestine. During the 1991 Persian Gulf War, al-Qa'ida viewed America as defiling the Islamic holy sites while American troops were stationed in Saudi Arabia. Al-Qa'ida
despises American wealth and materialism and America's free, open society.
In closing, America must win this war on terrorism and eradicate this evil from the entire globe before al-Qa'ida utterly destroys our beloved nation.
Within our contemporary, pluralistic society, humanity confronts numerous social problems which include inequalities, criminal deviance, demographic changes, etc., on a daily occurrence.
I perceive the major social problem facing mankind is environmental problems that destry the earth's ecosystems. These environmental problems can come in various forms such as air and water
pollution, global warming, ozone depletion, and etc.
We as a civilized people must stop the unnecessary despoilment that destroys our earth's ecosystems and the web of life.
In closing, I discern each one of us can become more educated on the concept of environmental degradation. Every individual should possess and obtain a much better understanding
of our responsibilities toward the earth's ecosystems.
I would like to say my sentiments on this litter and pollution prolem with the county. Why anyone would want to desecrate our beautiful landscape is beyond me. Litter emphatically
disrupts our entire ecosystem and environment.
Another ecological problem I would like to address is those dadburn purple-top thistles.
First, this botanical plant serves no purpose to humanity or beast. Purple-top thistles are a nuisance to mankind.
When those thistles ripen, that thistle seed shatters into the air and can travel for miles if it gets into the jet stream.
Eradicating purple-top thistles is a fairly simple procedure. Some individuals spray chemicals on them while others dig them up by their roots with a garden hoe.
The bottom line is we need to declare war on these purple-top thistles and eradicate from the county before they utterly desecrate our beautiful terrain this summer.
After reading the rebuttals concerning these 'Dadburn Purple-Top Thistles,' I'm just totally numb.
I have an idea on how to resolve my thistle problem. The ladies that responded can come over to my house and cut the thistles to put into your soups and salads.
By the way, I'm not a thistle-hugger.
At this time, I feel compelled to pay homage not only to print journalism editor Kennedy, but all the writing staff.
First, these devout folks are proven jounalistic professionals who know how to get to the apex of a controversial issue. After reading this informative publication for a number of years,
I can proclaim with candor and attest that the staff never report a moot story, but always strive to get to the core root of every political, community, or business issue at hand.
In closing, Editor Kennedy and the writing staff, thank you, for a job well done. Also, let me encourage readers to consider giving a subscription to family and friends. This would make a nice gift.
Finally, kudos and praise to the publishers for obtaining the salient and conspicuous print journalistic services of editor Kennedy.
Since the early 1960s with the Supreme Court decision to banish intercession, sacred Scripture reading and the Lord Jesus Christ from our classrooms, our nation's high schools have become dens
or depravity.
Drugs, slothfulness, overt animus, gangs, sexual promiscuity, alcohol and hostilities have replaced supplication, Bible reading and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Diverse factions of Christian students are boldly taking a stand on morality and traditional Christian values in our public high schools. I admire these students for their exhibition of courage
and valor to adhere to morality and not to become docile to oppression, temptation and peer pressure.
I would like to recognize the Christian high school students in Arkansas who stand boldly for morality.
The most important thing an American can do is practice good citizenship in their given community. I would like to insert a list of factors that promote good citizenship.
- Exhibiting patriotism and love for your country.
- Obeying the laws of the land - federal, state and local enactments.
- Helping to maintain a clean and litter-free community.
- Contributing to the community through voting on election day and performing volunteer services.
- Being tolerant of other people's religious, political and cultural beliefs.
In closing, helping to change your community can begin when each person decides to become committed to being a positive contributor to his or her community.
Remember, it takes enthusiasm and commitment to practice good citizenship.
Kudos and praise to Chief Korkern, and the whole police department for vehemently enforcing the clean yard ordinance.
Most citizens maintain their property and yard, but a few folks will become slothfull and lax in performing 'weed control'.
In closing, thank you, Chief Korkern, for performing your duties in a professional manner.
I percieve that the most debased social problem within our pluralistic society is illicit drug and alcohol abuse. This dilemma is extremely complex and offers no easy solution.
From a safety perspective, the users of variant drugs and alcohol not only impair their own well-being but pose a hazard to the public at large.
One of the pertinent cornerstones in promoting a drug-free community is education. By becoming familiar with the precise perils of drugs, each individual is better able to make informed, responsible decisions and determinations.

Individuals who choose to abuse and defile their minds and bodies with these variant drugs need to become educated on the perils of chemical dependency before they either become incorrigible or dead.
Kudos and praise to Sheriff Ferguson for his zero-tolerance message on drug activity.
I'm writing this epistle to alert your readers to the fact that deviant crimes do occur in rural areas. Washington and Madison counties' law wnforcement entities do a magnanimous job at deterring crime, but their activity is finite.
I advocate that each community within Washington and Madison counties activate a neighborhood crime watch. This is a concept in which each neighbor will observe their other neighbor's property while they are gone from their home. If one observes erratic activity in their neighborhood, just contact the police immediately. It's high time for the average citizen to take a staunch stand against the criminal element and say no more theft of property, drug activity, etc. within our communities.
In closing, helping to deter crime in Northwest Arkansas should be everyone's concern.
The premise behind those rising gas prices is based on avarice, lust and greed.
President Bush, the U.S. Congress, and the oil producers, and those commercial distributors need to find a compromising solution on how to get these rising gas prices down to a tolerable level.
Let's say 69 cents a gallon for regular unleaded. Sounds good to me.
This statement may stun the nefarious criminal element, but law enforcement officers are ministers of the Lord. In the New Testament, Romans 13:1-7, Apostle Paul tells us to submit to governing authorities and pay our taxes. Law enforcement officers are God's ministers, an avenger to execute wrath on the outlaws and bandits who practice evil.
In closing, I appreciate the law enforcement offorst of the Washington County Sheriff and Fayetteville Police Chief in sending out a formidable message to the bad guys within the Washington County geographical area. Gentlemen, please keep up the impeccable work.
It's an appalling reality, but the legal dissolution of marriage called divorce is higher in the church than within the secular world. There are various objectives why a husband and a wife get divorced. Immaturity, selfishness, adultery, casual attitude, misguided ideals, etc. are just a few pertinent reasons. In the Old Testament, Malachi 2:14-16, God says He hates putting away (divorce) between a husband and a wife. Other scriptures that deal with the concept of divorce are located in Mark 10:1-12 and Romans 7:1-3. In closing, married couples need to work out their differences because marriage is a game of compromise and concessions.
Are the days of unethical politicians over with northwest Arkansas, mainly Madison County? The Bible declares in Proverbs 29:2, 'When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.'
I'm one voter who believes all elected political leaders should have a higher standard of morals, ethics and virtuous conduct than anything else.
In closing, all elected officials in northwest Arkansas at the state, county and municipal levels of government should walk in righteous, overt behavior.
Once again, are the days of unethical politicians over within northwest Arkansas?
Has the Environmental Protection Agency done any air quality monitoring for air pollution in northwest Arkansas lately? If not, the EPA should 'conduct'
air quality monitoring within this area of northwest Arkansas.
Allergy sufferers sure would like to know what air pollutants are floating around in the atmosphere over northwest Arkansas. My ardent hypothesis of air
pollutants would be the following variables: cedar and pine tree pollen, carbon monoxide from motorized vehicles, and poultry houses, poultry houses, and still
more poultry houses.
I know numerous people who have moved to the northwest Arkansas area from different venues aroung this nation. These individuals reside with northwest Arkansas
for six months or so, then start having all kinds of allergy symptoms. Hey, I'm just telling the truth here.
In conclusion, I ponder the concept of just how many 'good ole boy chicken houses' must be built in northwest Arkansas before this area has the poorest
air quality in the entire United States.
I'm writing this letter to alert readers to the fact that deviant crimes do occur in rural areas. The local counties' law enforcement entities do a magmanimous
job at deterring crime, but their activity is finite.
I advocate that each community within the counties activate a neighborhood crime watch. This is a concept in which each neighbor will observe other neighbors'
property while they are gone from their home. If one observes erratic activities in the neighborhood, just contact the police immediately. It's high time for the
average citizen to take a staunch stand against the criminal element and say no more theft of property or drug activity within our communities.
Helping to deter crime in Northwest Arkansas should be everyon'e concern.
I don't believe in beating the devil around the bush. It's my fervent plea that Benton County Republican voters re-elect County Judge Gary Black and bring back former sheriff Andy Lee. Bring back Andy.
On any cigarette package is the austere warning that cigarette smoking may lead to lung cancer, heart disease and other health problems, and people still light up.
My question is, why would anybody want to use their lungs for an incinerator? Don't people know that nicotine is one of the ingredients in pesticides and insecticides used to kill rodents, insects and bugs?
In closing, I've never smoked cigarettes, nor am I planning on starting tomorrow. As far as I'm concerned smoking is a dirty habit.
Being an avid pupil of the academic discipline called political science, I wish to proclaim a valid statement. America's three branches of governmental structure came
directly from the sacred scriptures.
The Holy Bible declares in Isaiah 33:22 "For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our law-giver, the Lord is our kind; He will save us."
America's governmental structure is composed of three entities called the judicial, legislative and executive branches of government.
In closing, there is a strong connection between America's political anatomy and the Holy Bible.
Kudos and prestige to the Mayor and the City Council for the notable achievement of implementing the new city livestock ordinance, and for actively pursuing the silapidated building issue within our municipality.
I acutely discern that the Mayor is the best thing that has happened here in over 50 years because he is a proactive mayor.
Another city issue that I would like to see the Mayor, City Council, Planning Commission, Chamber of Commerce and Friendship Club address is the concept of unsightly
nuisances within the city, like salvage yards and junk car lots within the city limits.
The truth is these salvage yards and junk car lots are not only an eyesore to the city, but they cause a neighbor's property to depreciate in value.
In closing, I wish to state publicly once again that I perceive the Mayor to be the best thing that has happened to the city government in over 50 years. Mayor, keep up the impeccable job.
Why do some politicians always advocate even more anti-gun enactment for America, even after gun control has been vehemently discredited and gun ownership vindicated because of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution?
This anti-gun movement that some politicians endorse is built upon the perilous falsehood that sacrificing our guns can lead to much greater security in America. I do not adhere to his ludicrous concept. I perceive firearms are used far more often to deter crimes than to commit them.

The head football coach at the U of A is entering his ninth season on campus with the last two seasons as a loser.
He should start all the Springdale freshmen football players and stay out of the way of the offensive coordinator so we can win some football games this year. Maybe the team can go eight wins and four losses this 2006 season.
